| On other forums I frequent, it's always the opinion that if something's fallen off the first or second page of threads, then you don't revive it. If you simply must post something related (or more on the topic itself), then you create a new thread and link to the old one for people who want to catch up.
I've always thought it was a great way of running things, personally. Thus, I use it as my reasoning too. :) _________________ A healthy dose of insanity each day keeps a person sane.

| Thread necromancy wouldn't be so bad if folks who engaged in it didn't respond to the thread as if it was only a day or two old. When it's a bump-like maneuver, it makes sense. When it's someone chiming in to the bandwagon several months after it came and went, it's pretty retarded.
However, the argument for a thread having strayed far enough away from whatever its intended topic may have been before sinking into the ground of old threads is a decent one. I would surmise that reasonable posters can make a judgment call if it comes to "revive or duplicate."
Flat-out denying thread resurrection could also be seen as an invitation for folks to gloss over archives/the search feature and repost old, unnecessarily redundant material/topics. _________________
