| Greetings, all of you. I discovered DD somewhere around strip number 700-something, and started there and then to read it from the beginning and have since followed the comic at a daily basis. In short: I'm now completely brainwashed.
Though I love to discuss in forums (only Swedish, up until now) I haven't taken part in the various DD discussions here or in any other forum. I tried once, I think it was in the Keenspot forum, but I was dissatisfied with how the forum worked. And then there was the usual story: Forgot to check the forum, forgot the forum entirely and so on and so on and so ON...
But now our dear Mookie has come to his senses and is now linking to three different forums, of which this one looked very nice and so I decided to register here. Now, my question is:
Is this the best of the three DD forums? Seems that way, but it would be nice to hear what you other forumites have to say about it.
What pros (thousands of smileys? ) and cons does this forum have compared to the other ones?
Anyway, feels nice to be here. I hope that, in time, that will be a mutual feeling. ;) _________________ Formerly known as "ShadowWolf", I am now "Daige". Daige is a spear-wielding demon-hunting character from my fantasy novel. |

| Well, I personally view us as the middle ground of the other two forums.
The keenspot forums is renowned for being full of only spite, bitterness, and vitriol towards Mookie. Conversely however the livejounral crew is full of a lot of people who think Mookie can do no wrong. Ever. Even if he barbecues kittens and serves them with mustard - I mean come on, everyone knows ketchup is the only condiment proper for kittens.
There have been some arguments that we are cliquish, though that is only if you are a troll, and I can guarantee we are nowhere as cliquish as the keenspot forums. _________________

| While I don't participate in it, I find the Keenspot forum a hell of a lot more interesting to read than this one. And I just stay away from livejournal all together. _________________ You're about to die. Scream if you must. |

| | I find Livejournal difficult to discuss things in with the format... I do read the keenspot forum, and I chat here. I guess it depends on what you want from each place. Each one (even LJ : P) has its own merits. |

| Uhh...we've got a chatbox? : D?
I personally like this place better than the others, because of what Mathias said.
Anyway, welcome to the forum! _________________

Ditto. Keen is way too busy for me to read all of it though. I stick to a few interesting threads. I pretty much only talk in the chatbox. |

| This forum is a lot more boring at times, but it is generally less prone to the bandwagon of hatred or the short bus of sycophancy.
I've never have been nor do I plan to be a member of livejournal, so I don't bother with that space, but I am a member of both fora. I find that since my roots in DD fandom are more in the Keen forum (well, really in EZBoards...) that I read and bother with the comic discussion there, making most of what is talked about here in that regard redundant. This is no one's fault, but it makes me less likely to post/read a significant aspect of this site.
The folks here are generally polite and active in DD related shenanigans, so it's certainly a good place to be in that regard.
My advice? Join whichever ones you can or want to. They'll each provide you with DD discussion and what not. If one becomes something you don't like, stop visiting. *shrug* _________________

| | Good to know. I'm not a fan of LiveJournal, and Mookie Left Keenspot, so this was the obvious choice. It's nice to know people feel it's the middle ground, because while mookie can put whatever he wants on a grilled cat, I'm not likely to be very active in a forum outside of the one I have an "Investment" in. So it's nice to have found a "Chill" place. |

| Tender? STF- No, no, I'll say it, internet anagrams don't do it justice. Shut the fuck up. You know full well that I have no intention of simply deleting posts that I don't like, nor banning members on a whim. _________________

| Whilst I agree with tender, it does seem a bit inappropriate to swing that quote around until we've given Maulkin a chance to read and respond to objections. _________________ "Bears have penises. They can stick it in butts." ~LS |

| He has already deleted posts in a couple of threads when users didn't have a certain number of posts made on the forum, effectively silencing a subset of the members. _________________

| Insofar as I know that's only happened in voting threads, where you would have to be an idiot to disagree with him. Do you really think it's a good idea to make a voting system manipulatable to the point where all you have to do is ask a couple buddies to join and post nothing but their vote, and maybe a few other things just so nobody gets sucpicious?
