| Well, that's not entirely true, I DO get some messages...but I have a lot more threads marked as "subscriptions" (or whatever you should call it...I have them watched) so I should get mails whenever anyone writes anything in those threads but it doesn't seem like I do, so I miss out on a lot of new stuff here.
I will investigate this matter, cause I suspect it's linked to my mail service...

If you go to your profile, I think you can set it up where you get emails every time a thread is updated. Or is it that you go to a thread and there's a button that says "watch this thread"? Something along those lines.

| Well, it did work before, but suddenly the mail stopped coming. I may have found the solution for this problem now, but I'm not sure it's completely fool-proof. It seems that my gmail thinks that once it has sent me a subscription mail, it doesn't have to send me more mails for that thread until I have read the mail I got. It may work that way but I'm still unsure.
It seems to work okay now, though.

| Still having this problem. I want to subscribe to the strip slaying thread and the caption contest thread. I have marked both of these threads as "watched" but still don't get any mail concerning these threads, despite that people write new posts. Why?

| Not sure. It could be any number of things.
Check in your profile to make sure that you do in fact have it marked and that the site hasn't bungled that, then make sure your using the same email as your site registry.
Beyond that you could send a query to actifforums.

| I deleted all my subscriptions just now, except for strip slaying and caption contest...maybe the system thinks I watch to many threads...
Everything else seems okay. This is really puzzling...
Although it COULD be because the systems checks to see if I have posted in the actual thread, and if I haven't, maybe I won't get a mail? Some threads, like the caption contest, are regularly "cleaned", so if I only wrote one post there and it was cleaned away, maybe that's the problem? But I don't think those threads should ever be cleaned, I don't see the point of it.
