I'm hoping that either this has happened before, or that it's common enough in white mages that Dominic knows there's a relatively simple treatment. If so, then Dom's fine being amused and cracking wise. OTOH, if he doesn't know how to treat it, then he's just being an ass.

The strip was cute, but I had the same thought as someone else.

Eh. I'm not a big fan of the humor where somebody references a pop culture reference that they couldn't possibly know about. But I really don't like it in a strip where most of the time it's serious drama. (Or feeble attempts at such)

I've also seen it in Errant Story, and the contrast between mopey melodrama and HAHA I JUST REFERENCED KEFKA/HULK/POP CULTURE, AIN'T I WACKY just really turns me off. Maybe it's just me.

The joke itself is fairly amusing even though that phrase is an obvious hulk reference which, as has been stated, Dom shouldn't know. But I don't mind all that much, IMO assaulting the 4th wall can be quite humorous and acceptable as long as it's done in moderation.

Like "See mail", "bookmarking", and "Seers Catalog" aren't all real world references XP

I double disagree.

They can save Barthis the world twice before breakfast. At this point I would forgive them for assuming that they can do anything until proven otherwise.

Also, Dominic's disregarding his brother's feelings. Whether they can fix Greg's hypertrophy or not, I think that he's just being an ass.

ugh. Yeah, stupid strength spells that get out of hand... BUT, the most important question is: WHY DID MOOKIE MOVE AWAY FROM CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF A NEAT VILLIAN TO THIS SCHLOP!??!!!?!?!?!111onetehlollerskates

I mean the joke itself is fine, in the context of the universe it does not HAVE to be a Hulk (maybe Huk Thak :D ?) reference, but what angers me is that it came in the middle of a couple of really cool strips about the snowsong girl.

I mean here you have an interesting character, it is quite possible that slowly her cult mind-washing is going away, and in the process, we get to see if she destroys Barthis or not.

Snowsong = COOL STORY LINE
Gregory Smashing = NOT COOL STORY LINE

But isn't Gregory the protector of the town, the person she really wants to kill. And she is all for chaos and whatnot and what he has done is somewhat out of the ordinary if not 'chaotic' so this could complicate things for her. So I'm guessing these two plots are going to intertwine very shortly.

Also, Mookie often looks at different characters within a storyline. I'm kind of glad they're not just staying with the Snow Song woman, as she seems pretty one-sided and generic to me. I expect that to change, as Mookie's good at making provocative characters, but she's nothing too impressive so far.

Actually, I think that would be awesome. Well, except it IS his brother, which I guess means he can't be as sarcastic and ass-ish.

I still thought it was kind've funny.

Exception: If TIM yelled, "GO, GO, GOUGING ARM!" right before gutting somebody, I would laugh my ass off.
