I think that's just a sort of traditional prayer or something you say when someone dies. People do the same thing in the real world, but we can assume it has some sort of effect in a magical worldl ike DDs. So it's not really suprising. |

I think Jukashi was talking about the prayer Dominic said to Siggy before he died, which Pink just posted the lyric to; not today's strip.
Personally I do see this as being sort of an awkward transition. Maybe if there was a strip of Jayden being in her room or something like that, THEN that picture it would have ran smoothly.

No, you're right. that was a complete and total non-sequitur... I can think of a few times Mookie did that... Unfortunately the most recent was in the dreaded snowsong arc.
That being said, even if Mookie makes similar structural "mistakes" in this arc as he did in the snowsong arc, the plot is already better than the entirety of snowsong, so I can overlook that.

That's a tremendous logical leap. Saying "don't even bother trying" doesn't necessarily or even likely mean that if he had finished Siggy would go to heaven. It seems more like "your blessing is pointless" to me. |

When you look at the way the panels are laid out, and the dialogue, that's what I see implied.

You know, when I think of things involving Jayden and Hell, I can't help but consider this strip. No, I don't know how to build a direct route from that to Siggy getting claimed by Karnak, but I wouldn't be surprised that there's something there.
