When was the last time there was a story arc that people weren't counting down the days until the end of?

The amount of time being given to Prento's seemingly crazy theory makes me wonder if by the time all is said and done, we're going to find out that it was credible and he was right all along. Maybe the stress contagion has nothing to do with Dominic's issues, but they'll find its influence causing some other, unrelated problem.
