| Appologize in advance if someone already made this thead. (looked though the threads and didn't see it.)
Basicaly want to know what your reading currently. is it good? is it crap? would you recomend it. i'll start.
Book: Island Author: Richard Laymon Genre: Splatterpunk Favorite Line: Today the yacht exploded. (First line of the book, if thats not a hook i don't know what is.)
Recomendation: I'm loving this book so far. Very violent and dark and sexual. if thats your thing you should check it out. Warning not for the faint of heart or those who believe the good guy should always win without exception. _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. [2:34:54 AM] Doog assgrabs the cappin...Firm yet supple. Doog ducks the fiery wrath of ril. the duck is incinertated. [2:37:23 AM] Doog assgrabs ril as a form of apology. The duck death toll for this act is believed to be in the thousands. |

| Love this thread.
Book(s): A Song of Ice and Fire (series) - rereading Author: George R. R. Martin Genre: (Dark) Fantasy Favourite Line: Winter is coming.
Recommendation: If your a fantasy fan and decidedly not faint of heart, this series is fantastic. I'm rereading it because it is that awesome, and another is coming out at the end of the year. Often this series gets written off as depressing or morbid, but if your willing to accept that these "depressing and morbid" things are a natural progression of events (which they are), then the books are good for you.
Although warnings if the following makes you uncomfortable: Protagonist death (many times, about a dozen view point characters die. No one is safe), rape, violence (like whoa), underage sex/pregnancy/marriage, maiming, and extremely complicated plots.

| | It rocks my world. Like, seriously. Although I'm a little annoyed that A Dance with Dragons will only have half the cast in it. While I did miss characters like Tyrion from the last book, the majority of characters in that were ones I like, so I'm worried the next book isn't gonna resolve some big cliff hangers from the last one. i.e. Brienne much? (GRRM implied she might not have died) The Hound? Arya? |

| Book(s): The Nameless Day Author: Sara Douglass Genre: ... I believe it's historical fiction/fantasy :S Favourite Line: Only just started reading it ^.^;
Recomendation: Um... since I've only just started the book, I really can't say much about it. But I have loved all of Sara Douglass' other books, so I'm trusting that I'll love this one too.
... apparently it's violent, according to a friend. But meh. _________________

I've read the NSW equivalent. It was of equal quality.
And yet, I still cannot drive... |

| Assassin's Quest, by Robin Hobb. Fantasy.
Favorite line: "Oh when the Fool pisses, praytell, what's the angle? Does he stand up or sit? Does he dimple or dangle?"
~The Fool, referring to himself and his apparent androgyny.
Rereading the series for the umpteenth time, because it's just that good. There are plots within plots, and the character really grows with time. Also, she does a good job at giving a wolf personality. _________________

Well, he refers to himself as 'he.' So, uh... _________________ The Law of Fives states simply that: ALL THINGS HAPPEN IN FIVES, OR ARE DIVISIBLE BY OR ARE MULTIPLES OF FIVE, OR ARE SOMEHOW DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY APPROPRIATE TO 5.
The Law of Fives is never wrong.
In the Erisian Archives is an old memo from Omar to Mal-2: "I find the Law of Fives to be more and more manifest the harder I look."

Oh, and with him | Spoiler: | | | spending time in a wolfs body and all. | It sounds like a cool series, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. |

| If I had a choice about it, I'd be reading Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, but I'm currently reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand for a scholarship. It's not bad, it's just slow. _________________ Sold my soul to Square Enix. Never been happier.

Ooooh, Ayn rand... i want to read her books, specially Atlas Shrugged, but sadly, there are nowhere to be found here in Mexico...
And yes, i know i could buy it from the i-nets, but im still skeptical about that. _________________ Hell Hath no fury like a woman you really shouldn't have slept with.

Well, he refers to himself as 'he.' So, uh... |
Sorry, I misquoted:
"Oh when the Fool pisses Pray tell, what's the angle? Did we take down his pants, Would he dimple or dangle?"
Anyway, he was still a rather ambiguous character, and another character (Starling) felt slighted that Fitz (the main character) was spending so much time with the Fool, so the Fool (to Fitz's confusion) pretended to be female so Fitz would have a reason to not be romantically interested in Starling. _________________

| Finished Island and ending was... amazingly good. always have a good time with laymons work. (whenever i have to deal with stupid customers and have those deeply murderous feelings he's my goto author.)
next book
Book: The Automatic Detective Author: A. Lee Martinez Genre: Sci-fi/Mystery
So Far: Basicaly its a 1940's detective novel set in 2525 where the detective is a Bot named Mac Megaton. I loved Gil's All Fright Diner and In the Company of Ogres so i thought i'd give this a try. so far its pretty awsome. Aperantly Mr.Martinez cant do two books in a row in the same genre. _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.
