| Carried over from another thread, I think it deserves a thread of its own.
WTH is going on with these jerk directors who ruin the pivotal moment in their movie by blowing the fight scenes?
Example: Batman Begins.
Did you know that CB and LN trained for weeks on the final fight scene with martial arts coreographers? They spent thousands of dollars on the trainer.
And at the very end the director botched the shots so bad that even Liam Neison bitched him out in public on David Letterman, saying how disappointed he was the final fight scene didn't come out.
So anyone have an explanation as to why and how this is happening?
Any other movies where you feel the final fight scene was blown by the director? _________________

| Transformers is a good example. I recently saw Jumper, and whenever there was a fight scene, it just blurred. It's insanity. _________________ "Crazy? No, I'm sane. God am I sane."

| Oh don't get me started on Michael Bay. It was very clear to me when he planned his shots out in the earlyportions of the movie, he failed to realize how tall transformers really were.
You can see in the first hour that the transformers were hunched over to fit in the camera scope. _________________

| my dad couldn't tell who was who in Transformers becuase everything was moving just too darn fast. I don't like "fight" scenes in movies anymore, they've gotten too...over the top. _________________ Ever feel like a little bug in a big world? Yeah so do we...

| Cartoon fight scenes are usually not bad. _________________ "You may need to metaphorically make a deal with the devil. By 'devil' I mean robot devil and by 'metaphorically' I mean get your coat." ~Bender from Futurama

| You know I enjoy the Avatar the Last Airbender fight scenes. Despite the hokeyness of it, they are well coreographed. Especially with Toph. _________________

| Toph kicks ass. Her fighting style is really well-thought out and she's just got the best personality of the team. Her and Sokka. They should have a spinoff show. _________________ "You may need to metaphorically make a deal with the devil. I agree. My whole family has become so tired of so many hollywood directors being unable to handle actual flight scenes.
One reason why I enjoy Jackie Chan is because he knows how to set the shots up, and despite unbelievability in certain areas, he rarely if ever uses any wires. It's all acrobatics. That requires skillz.

Toph is the reason I became interested in Avatar.
She is the greatest earth bender ever to live! _________________

| I find the fight scenes in Gekiranger very amusing, simply because they look extremely unrealistic. And considering there's like... at least 1 per episode... *dies* Ahh well. Tis entertaining to notice the fact that the enemies have rubber weapons and they randomly bend and move during the scenes XD Though considering it's a show for kids, I suppose it's okay. _________________

| Lol Doom.
Kevin, Avatar is an anime, I thought we would be talking of fight scenes from movies.
I'm gonna have to add anything directed by Uwe Boll to this list. _________________

Second'd for truth. And apparently each of the different bending styles was based on a different kind of real-life martial arts, which makes it cooler.
Oh, and for the record, Avatar isn't quite an anime. It's american, and is very much one of the few shows that is blurring the lines between what's a cartoon and what's an anime. As it should. :) |

I don't watch Avatar for that reason. To cross those lines is hazardous. Everytime a cartoon does that, a rip in the fabric of space and time appears. _________________ "Crazy? No, I'm sane. God am I sane."
