But there are two characters that make everything worth it - Toph and Sokka. THEREFORE crossing those boundaries doesn't matter.

Second'd for truth. And apparently each of the different bending styles was based on a different kind of real-life martial arts, which makes it cooler.

Oh, and for the record, Avatar isn't quite an anime. It's american, and is very much one of the few shows that is blurring the lines between what's a cartoon and what's an anime. As if should. :)

This is the reason why I believe Avatar is pertinent to this dicsussion.

cartoon or movie, a director has to have a sense of direction. They need to know how to plan the camera angles. They need to know how to lay out the scope.

Avatar does this with beautiful execution, far superior to all anime I've seen outside of Samurai Champloo.

And these are skills which are transferrable to other mediums.

I liked the Doom movie. It had the perfect ammount of cheese and homage to the game to make me like it.

Was it a horrible movie? Yes. FUCK YES.

Was it awesome to see? Yes. FUCK YES.

There were parts of doom I enjoyed but other parts just pissed me off. I am glad I waited till it hit HBO.

Yes it did have a couple cool well coreographed fight scenes.

This reminds me of the Bourne series (Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, and Bourne Ultimatum). Some of the action scenes were pretty cool, but the really GOOD stuff could have been made more awesome if it were not for the bad recordings.

There was just something about watching the large black man beat the shit out of a Hell Knight that pleased me greatly. I wish he would have won...

That's actually a technique used in film to make the fight seem more hectic. The thing is they overdid it a bit with Bourne making it so basically the camera went spazz as they moved.

The doom movie had its moments, then the Rock Started to talk and act. He does not do either well. So yeah.

It said it was produced for Nickelodeon, and that it's country of origin is America. Why would they animate it in Korea if Nickelodeon US commissioned it?
