| Took me long enough, but here's character number 2:
Name: Laura Pierpont
Age: 37
Race: Caucasian
Gender: Female
Looks: She is a tall woman, around 5'9, with a curvy figure. She has reddish brown hair and pale skin littered with freckles, as well as green contacts. Also, one of her ears is torn up and she has trouble hearing out of it.
Personality: Laura tends to try and take control of the situation, attempting to come up with a plan to follow to figure things out and has a lot of patience in doing so. Unfortunately, if these plans don't work out, she will often get frustrated to the point of breakdown. She is a friendly woman usually and, while not a social butterfly by any means, is capable of working with others well.
Occupation: Laura is an animal trainer/zoologist at the nearby New Hope Zoo. She works mostly with the big cats and some of the bears, especially with the cubs.
Clothing: She is wearing slacks, tennis shoes, a t-shirt, and a light red jacket.
Skills: She is skilled with tranquilizer guns, both short distance and range. She is also at above average physical strength, what with her occupation.
She is not much of a runner, but she has decent stamina and speed.
On-Hand Resources: She is carrying three tranquilizer guns, both filled with heavy doses, as well as more tranquilizers in a small case she has with her. She also has her car, her car and house keys, her cell phone, and a small amount of food.
History: Laura was raised in New Hope by her mother and grandparents along with her younger sister, Jenna. Her father died before she was born in an accident at the research lab he worked at. She had a love of cats growing up and, indeed, owned five of them throughout her childhood. Early on, Laura took an interest in biology and continued to study this as it morphed into a more specific area of research, zoology.
She went to the University of Michigan and majored in zoology with a minor in environmental science. She and a friend, Daniel Moss, both went to work at the San Diego zoo after graduation. After about two months of working together, she and Daniel began dating and after about six months of dating, Daniel proposed. They were married for two years before they divorced over irreconcilable differences, owning mostly to Daniel and Laura's clashing over who was more "in charge" of the relationship. Laura decided to move closer to her sister Jenna, who was studying in Toronto.
A few months after Laura and Daniel's divorce, Jenna, in her senior year at the University of Toronto, married her boyfriend of three years. At the wedding, Laura hit it off with the best man, Nate. He was a welcome change from Daniel and she found him sweet and funny, so they continued seeing each other until they decided to marry.
To support Nate's job and to start a family, they both moved to Laura's hometown of New Hope. Laura found herself caught up in building up the new zoo until it was large enough to rival that of other large zoos across the country and she was happy in her professional and personal life. After the birth of her and Nate's first child, however, she became frustrated with Nate's perceived undedicated attitude toward their family - he was spending more and more time with his experimenting in the basement and less time either at work or with her. Laura was forced to drop a shift at work so that she could take care of the children, despite the fact that Nate was wrking out of their home. This only worsened after the birth of their second child, but they had managed to work past most of their problems in the last year.
Interesting Facts: She is still a cat lover and has three cats currently.
Nate's and her children's names are Elizabeth (1 year old) and Kyle (3 years old)
