the History of Orcs.

Creation Myth: In the begining there was Barharosh (BAR-ha-ROW-sh). Barharosh created the world. and this was good. He created the seas and the sky. and this was good. He created the plants and the animals. And this was good. He then created the higher beings and gave them dominion over his creation. To the mountains which teatherd the sky to the land he gave the dwarves. To the forests which offered shelter he gave the elves. To the seas which teamed with life and motion he gave the merfolk. To he hills and vallies which offered seclusion he gave the dragons. To the plains with their fertile feilds and vast stretches he gave man. To the world and all its infinite complexities he gave the gnomes to spread joy and laughter throughout his creation. And this was good. To light his world Barharosh created the sun and the moon and the stars so he might watch his creation. And this was not so good. For the light pushed back the darkness and the darkness did not like that one bit. The darkness coveted Barharosh's creation. The darkness took form as Deamons and caused havoc in the world. Barharosh saw what was happening and was sore displeased. He then took up his mighty hand and created a warrior race to fight back against the darkness. These were the orcs. Tall and Strong with eyesight that worked in the dimmest light. These feirce warriors fought back against the darkness with rage and fury unmatched. For orcs would not stop fighting untill death in their bloodrage. And for a time this was good. For the darkness was held back but his creation was too fierce. The Bloodrage could not be quenched. The orcs fought amongst themselves and the other races and their numbers dwindled. Seeing his creations plight pained Barharosh. And so Barharosh spoke unto the world. "And there shall be a counterpart to my creation. Where his hand destroys hers will nurture. Where his mind knows only rage hers will walk the path of enlightenment. When he is lost to the fury she will light his way home. When he finishes his war she will show him the path to peace." and with that from each orc man sprang an orc woman. And this was very good.

Orcs as a warrior people: Orcs are a warrior race to be sure. Orc males are amongst the most feared warriors to ever walk the planet. When they fall into what the call the Bloodrage an orc will keep fighting untill their physical form is destroyed. which is very hard to do. Most males average 7 to 8 feet tall and aproxamately 300 to 350lbs of muscle. Tusks protrude from their lower jaw and their noses usualy have an upward slant. Their skin is thick and usualy a pigment of green. Orcs are more resistant to magic than most and while in the bloodrage most mind affecting magics have no effect at all. Orcs eyes are a golden yellow mix and at night have a green eyeshine showing their preternatural ability to see in the dark. Orc females are their counterpoint in everyway. Usualy standing 6 to 7 feet tall with leaner frames usualy 175 to 190lbs. Orc females do not fall to the bloodrage. Nurturing and caring they worship Barharosh as their creator and through him channel the magic of the land (I.E. shammanistic magic). On the battlefield orc women have two roles. The spearmaidens herd the bloodraging orc males directing them toward the enemy and seperating any Orc who may attack his comrades. The shammans call upon Barharosh for magical might channeling nature to smite the wicked. shammans are given by Barharosh a special magic that can calm the bloodrage and give an orc warrior back his mind and heal his wounds. Orc armies are to be feared and most of the higher kingdoms keep at least one complement of orcish soldiers and the women who guide them.

Orcish Society: Orcish society is Matriarchal. Most clans have a chief. This cheif is most times the most senior OR most gifted shamman. Orc males outside of combat while not stupid in the least lack focus. Orc women do not have this problem. Sharp and quick, day to day life is dictated by women. The only thing that is odd about this arangement is that because orcs believe orc women sprang from the men, they belive that women are property. In fact a male orcs status is dictated by the woman (or women in some cases) he owns. The strongest males have first choice of females and in turn have the right to give their daughters away. A male can chalange another male for ownership of a woman. This custom is called upon little though for most males are content with their mates and most females can guide their men to do whatever they like. So in a society where females are considered the property of males. Its the females who have all the decision making power.

Shapeshifter Information (APPROVAL PENDING)

Shapeshifters (also shortened to SS or Shifter):

Shapeshifters are actually estranged cousins of alteration magic.

Shapeshifters aren’t made, they’re born. And rare.

Its impossible to say how many of them exist, but it’s a surprise if you meet more than one or two in your lifetime.

Shapeshifters have the innate ability to use very powerful alteration magic…. Problem is, they can only affect themselves.

They are incapable of using magic on anyone but themselves, but there is a work around….

Shapeshifters are also notoriously known for being able to easily achieve ‘Elemental Forms’

If one were to become a Fire Elemental, they can use fire spells outside their body. The drawback being, they gain HUGE weaknesses during these forms. For the Fire Form, for example, water would dose the shapeshifter’s flames, and turn him/her back into normal form.

Of course, these elemental forms cannot achieve cosmological status, but some have achieved Master status, as it is noted an infamous SS once became a 5 story volcanic beast of sorts, and tore up an entire town. Though it is believed that the SS used a very powerful Orb to do so.

When a shapeshifter takes on the form of some other creature, they also become more like that creature. For example, not only would you gain all the abilities and strengths of a wolf when you turn into one, but you would also know instinctively how to use them to their greatest advantage. In this, a SS can defeat even an alterist Master in combat, as the SS would know how to use all the powers of a fire elemental on the first go, whereas the alterist would have to learn how to do everything like a child.

Shifters tend to live very long lives. Regular bodies eventually age and die, due to their body not repairing itself, but shifters have such control that their bodies don't break down.

Not to say a shifter cannot die of old age, just that it takes far longer. The average life span is usually around 500 years.

Shifters are notoriously hard to kill. A shifter has been known to have been set on fire, pushed off a cliff, and then trampled by a herd of buffalo to no ill effect. This was only, however, because it managed to shift into a fire, air and earth elemental, avoiding damage.

If you manage to catch a shifter by surprise, they are no stronger or weaker than the form they are currently in. While a head on assault will almost certainly end in victory for the shifter, a surprise attack can cut them down, if they are not allowed time to heal or shift.

A mage of sufficient skill can also block a shifter's abilities, keeping them in one form. As such, shifters tend to make their bodies full of all sorts of nasty surprises, even when they are in a simpler form.

Shifters have few children. They are as fertile as the next race, however the act of shifting effectively aborts any child who might have come to be. Shifters can breed with just about any race, if they assume the form of that race. Any child born of such a union is also a shifter.

Shifters have high infant mortality rates. Roughly 80% of all infant shifters die within one week, due to uncontrollable shifting and changing.

Elemental (Destruction) Magic

“Point. Click. Chaos.”
Better wording: “The manipulation, creation, or dissimulation of elements in the world.”

The most widely known school of magic, likely the one people think of when thinking of magic is a mage torching someone with a fireball made from mid-air.

Mages take the magical energies from their body, and the surrounding elements, and manipulate and create elements to help fight their enemies…. Or help reheat that old steak that got a little undercooked.

There is of course some confusion though on how this all works, so lets take “Pryo Ball” as an example. The mage focuses magic in the palm of his hand, and makes some of the magic a flowing fuel source, creates a small spark, and propels the ball of flame wherever. (Though, the flame’s properties can change, like from being just a puff of quick flame to a flame that sticks to its target, all depending on the mage’s adding of a ‘fuel source’, some trickier than others)

One of the biggest confusions of Destruction magic is that the elements can all just thrown like a ball of fire, which is not correct. You won’t likely see someone just appear a huge boulder from there hands and chuck that.

How does it work? Mass, density, magical concentration. Fire is the simplest since its density is pretty slim, and it’s a form of energy as it is. The next would be lightning, though the reason its below fire is due to its extreme difficulty to control sometimes. Next is wind, water, ice, wood, earth, then steel in that order. You’ll never see a mage throw metal from nothing anytime soon.

Fire: Magic essence converted to fuel source, spark ignited.
Subset of fire is lightning
Lightning: Magic sped up immensely and changed to electricity, then released

Wind: (almost as easy as fire, if not more so) makes the magic a little ‘harder’ or more physically dense and then uses that as wind.

Water: Magic converted into water, most of the time this leads to those who don’t specialize to make a small amount, like enough to soak one person. Usually though, most people manipulate water around them and use that.
Ice is a subset of Water.
Ice: temp is decreased rapidly, and how people ‘freeze’ things isn’t commonly known. They are actually shooting water at someone, then freezing THAT. The process can be so quick you could freeze and entire human being in one second if good at Ice magic.

Wood: Again, getting to elements that are usually used with elements around you rather than purely create it. In wood’s case, some mages like to make small thorny whips (sometimes using Alteration to assist) or shoot wooden spikes at people.

Metal: As I know, you really can’t make metal with magic. Its rumored there’s a mage nicknamed ‘Steel Shot’ who fires small cone metal pieces at enemies at such speeds that they go clean through a person, and blast a person’s brains out.

Also, a person who achieve extreme specialty in a certain element seem to show it physically. A lightning mage will seem twitchy, his hair frazzled out and sparks flying from his fingertips. Again, they can control it, but heavily using a certain element a lot makes the user retain some….looks from every element.

Another ‘element’ to watch out for is Decay, or Pure Destruction. This isn’t what you think. This ‘element’ is a mix of quite a few schools of magic, Destruction being the most obvious. This ability allows the user to ‘sap’ the elements out of something easily, or just break down elements easier. One skilled in Decay can make an enemy’s sword rust and become dust within a split second. Those who’ve mastered it are feared as it’s been known to be used on the elements of people, causing gory and nasty messes. There is a rumor of such a person… a man with pure black eyes wearing glasses and a trenchcoat, who’s believe to had his mind’s sanity Decay itself, leading to delirious thoughts and confused actions. Wink

Awaiting approval of Scooter
EDIT: Changed the name to Elemental, since its a creation/destruction type magic. It can be called either/or. Though, it should be noted that this isn't NATURE magic. Nature is a subset just like SS is a subset of Alteration

That last question is answered when this man goes into battle fully armored and a completely different man than was seen before. While not the oldest and experienced of the bunch in some ways, he’s gone through trials that most of the world doesn’t even know about. He’s amazingly skilled in close range combat, and though he has no magic of his own, his equipment seem to have abilities.

TRAINED KILLER. He’s the ‘rogue’ of our group, in so many ways. As of now, could beat anyone in no-magic rules (except zero, since smoke aint magic), easily, even aru right now. Deals more damage per second than aru, but is not as strong. Has range from swords and speed on his side. Later, becomes a match even moreseo against magical characters and larger groups, though its outside help of enchantments, he’s capped physically as a normal man can get.

Strongest one Magically. Isn’t no battlemage at all. His ‘Ghost Hands’ could help in close combat, but he won’t last long without some help. As a support character, he’s devasting. With protection and time, can crush small battle groups like flies. With more time and orbs, is capable of cosmological spells. Does better with stronger allies that he works well with.

FUCKING TANK. Guy takes as much damage as liam, and can dish out more. Though slower, he hits hard already, and is the feral fighter. But with gilga training, could crush through castle walls with gilga easily. Since he’s magically resistant from dragon/dryad blood, and Gilga parts are immune, hes a strong up close character, poor range fighter. He is also the only one with flight capabilities (outside of doog’s short flights) due to wings and gilga’s jet pack. Nature magic and Alchemy comes in later, but will assist him in not being overrun by many quick chars or just plain mobs that could gang up on him.

Destruction-Expert-Master (for her entire char, she has more theory than me. Or at least the common sense to go “No, don’t test the phase-bombs in Zero’s room”)
Illusion-Definitely Expert (maybe become an Expert, you were a thief, and Illusion is a thief thing)
Alteration-Adept
Restoration-Adept (better than me?)(nope, barely capable)
Mysticism-Novice (never studied it. whe uses destruction and alteration to make barriers when needed instead)
Enchantments-Master (more theory than application)(no, There has been application, and she's very thorough. she spends months at a time on a single enchant)
Weapons-Expert (knives) Adept (with short swords after Liam’s training)
Unarmed-Adept (when drunk)
Conjuration-Adept (master later. This form of magic, basically summoning, it fairly rare since it's intracate and requires "contracts" with the summon, which are hard to get, and require a certain elequence and panache to convince a summon to agree to be bound. Weaker creatures can be forced. Possible to bind creatures into weapons, but not suggested. It pisses them off.)

-Misc-

-End Result-
Has common sense and lots of theory, and is sometimes more book-heavy than James, has a better eye for magical things, but is good on the up close battlefield, due to weapon training and quick spells. Is CAPABLE of cosmological spells, but as much as James.

Zero's Backstory

CHAPTER THREE

The Syndicate of D

Winston had made it to the outskirts of the city, but he flew on just a bit farther to be safe. Once he made it to the nearby forest, Winston returned to his human form and collapsed on the ground. Everything that he had was destroyed. His parents, his home, and his life. Winston had nothing left. He started to cry again. He rubbed his eyes to get rid of the tears , but they just kept coming. His eyes were red and swollen by the time he had stopped.

Suddenly, he heard the bushes rustling. Was it a denizen of the forest he had disturbed with his crying? Or was it one of the residents of the city coming to finish him off? The rustling grew louder and Winston panicked. He tried to scream, but his throat was hoarse from all his sobbing that he could barely emit a breathless squeak.

Suddenly, a small rabbit jumped out of the brush and hopped off, obviously more scared than Winston was. He let out a sigh of relief and sat down next to a tree.

"Nice hiding place, but with all the noise you've been making, I would be surprised if those angry folks hadn't found you yet."

The voice made Winston jump. He scrambled away from the tree and looked around. A tall man in a long black coat stepped out from behind the tree Winston was sitting by. A large black hood covered the man's face, but he could still see the his menacing glare from underneath.
"Don't be frightened, I am not here to harm you."
The man walked towards Winston with his hands raised, showing that he had no weapons.
"I just want to talk to you."
"Talk!? Why!?" Winston shouted.
The man put a finger to where his lips were, motioning for Winston to be quiet.
"You want them to find us?"
Winston shook his head in response.
"Good...Now then, listen closely. The town has sent a search party to locate and destroy you. We don't have much time, so I will dispense with the formalities and get right to the point."
He extended a hand to Winston.
"You can try your luck here, out in the wilderness. Or......You can come with me and join our little organization. Your choice."
It didn't take long for Winston to decide. He knew what would happen if he stayed out here.
"I-I'll go with you." he said still stuttering from fear.

"Excellent choice.....You won't regret it. Or maybe you will, I'm not sure. Fate works in mysterious ways."
The man waved his hand and a circular object appeared in the air. Upon closer inspection, Winson realized that it was a round door. It was suspended in mid-air, with no frame to support it. It was transparent almost, like a ghost. The hinges and the dorrknob were transparent as well, but looked brighter than the door itself. The man waved his hand again and the door swung open.

Beyond it, Winston could see not the forest, but the courtyard of a large castle. The man ushered Winston through the door. Nervously, Winston stepped into the courtyard. As he passed through the doorway, he felt his entire body shudder. It was as if he had passed into another world. Winston looked back at the man as he stepped through the doorway and shut the door, causing it to vanish.
"What was that?" he inquired curiously. The man laughed.
"It is my Devil Fruit ability!" he said proudly. "I ate the Door Door Fruit! I can create interdimensional doorways that take me to places I have been! It's almost like teleporting!"
Winston was curious as to why the man was so proud of that. The people he knew treated him like a monster when he ate the Devil Fruit.
"Just who are you? And where am I?"
The man laughed again.
"I am called Blotto! And this..."
He raised his hands and pointed to the castle surrounding them.
"This is the headquarters for the Syndicate of D!!!"

Now that school is over....
My plans are:

Finish all of the magic schools, (which right now includes Illusion, Restoration, and Conjuration)

Give greater depth and examples of all schools of magic.

Finish the Character Statistics and Rankings (my post in this page before this one), I haven't finished the Magic sections of each person and the Final Verdict (summary of that char in a battle sense)

Expand on the Character Statistics and Ranking for even more depth (maybe include how that person feels about every other char individually; and, include battle things like: what's better for that char, 1v1, 1vmany, etc)

Be Awesome

Explain what Focuses, Artifacts, Orbs, and Runes are and how they work. Also, just expand on the world of magic in general and specifics.

More Dragon shit.

More Other Sentient Beings findings.

Last thing:

I wish to, since the OOC is a bit scattered, make something along the lines of a very nicely made and organized Word Document or something similar to organize all the OOC info for this RP, and make things a HELL of a lot easier to find and shift through. (Chapter one, Introduction, Chapter two, History of the land, Chapter three, Magic info, Chapter four, Sentient Beings, CHapter five, Char information, Chapter six, storyline of RP, etc, etc)

Just to let people know: I don't do this because I was told to, I don't do this because I wish to 'control' the RP in any sense (any objections or alteration/edits to my sections on magic are fine if talked about for reasoning), I do this because I like a fun project as this, its fun for me to create things like this. To do things like this. It feels similar to what a game designer can do at some point, creating a world from your mind alone, and making it some thing high quality and Awesome .

I got no complaints, it really does need to be organized. My only thing is let other people cover the things that concern their characters.

I'm not saying the magic system.

DONE-Next up: Finishing the Stats post.
Illusion:
”Manipulation and distortion of a being’s senses and perception.”

Welcome to the subtle but powerful magic of Illusion. Illusion is a strong magic that messes with people’s senses. There sense of hearing, sight, and their perception of reality being the most common.

A common example is a mage conjuring up a gigantic fireball and throwing it at someone. That person covers up as if about to be hit, and the ball just passes through or dissipates when it reaches the person.

Illusions are physically “there”. They are magic forming into visual or audio objects that don’t really exist, or don’t physically.

But Illusion also harbors a darker version of itself. Mind Warping. Illusion magic can be used on people’s minds themselves, though this magic is strictly forbidden, but so is necromancy, and that isn’t stopped either.

Novice- small amounts of ventriloquism and fake apparitions like small fireballs or flares of light. Can use chameleon magic (make yourself blend with the environment, though it isn’t effective completely at first, its less strenuous than using Invisibility in some cases. Chameleon spells break when too much movement is used, where as invisibility doesn’t.) at around 30% to 50%.

Adept- Can start to produce complex images and the like. (Example: an illusion of a person, or specifically, visual clones that do little movement). Can now also do things like Charm, where you make yourself seem appealing to someone, more likeably physically. Can use chameleon up to 75%. Can start to use invisibility and cloaking.

Expert- Can start to do mind-altering magic. This is very complex stuff, things like going into peoples dreams and inserting nightmares, or making a person completely hallucinate something. Can make multiple clones that do complex movements. Can use 100% Chameleon and Invisibilty can be used on self and a couple of other people.

Master- Can make fireballs as huge as a boat appear (it’s an illusion people), and even trick some people into feeling the heat from it. Can make multiple clones that can make complex movements and sounds. Can stack many Illusion spells to great effect, making clones that seem to fade in and out, make sounds perfectly, even make you feel as if they are attacking you. Its believed at this state Illusionists can fool allies into attacking themselves, or invoking certain emotions from people.

GrandMaster- Just increased Master spells. Can use powerful mind-altering magic, possible complete Mind Control.

Cosmological- Illusion magic isn’t the first choice for cosmological spells, but they are some of the scariest. Some are believed to cause an entire town to have nightmares where if they are harmed in their dreams, they are harmed in real life. Another is believed to cause entire cities to disappear, though how is a question.

Note: Its believed that some assassins and Scouts primarily train in Illusion, so an Adept might actually capable of performing more than it should be for that level considering they focused ONLY on that school of magic. It’s believed Assassins and Scouts are masters of Cloaking/Invisibility/Chameleon spells, and use it to maximum effect for their jobs.

I'll be posting the revision of the Stats in this post tonight, a bit busy with some things.

Also, some people might worry that the RP is slowing down. I think many will agree that alot of people are real busy with end-of-school work like Finals and Exams and what not. Half of the people are waiting for others to post before they can move, and those people are busy.

Don't worry, the Arc itself is about to pick up, things might just be a little stalled until school ends for most people. Also, it might pick up earlier if a couple of people post, (I won't say who), and then Doog can make the next post to start up some things.

Just a friendly reminder from your neighboorhood Mage.

Now go [Jackal] yourself, MotHS! (obscure radio reference ftw?)

Edit:(It means 'Now go ROCK yourself....WEBN, Cincinnatti' MotHS= Mercenaries of the High Seas.)

James’ Notes and Statistics on Allies and Crewmates of the Freelancer

It might be questioned as to WHY I would take such careful notes of my own allies, but I’m a paranoid Mage with free time, and my Sight spells placed on the boat help gather information that my ‘subtle’ persuasion of people (usually involving freezing sensitive areas of people) in the know doesn’t. I guess you could say I’m EXACTLY the type of person to actually make a whole system on how to rank people in strength, speed, ect. Writing things like this helps pass the time, and I always love learning things.

Alric- Captain of the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- A-S
Speed- A
Agility- A
Endurance- S
Pain-Threshold- S
Expertise:
Unarmed- B-A
Armed- S
Weapon(s) of Preference:
Rapier (2) (not wielded at the same time)
Family Longsword (1)
Strong Eyepatch (1) To strangle idiots who call him a pirate with.
Armor- Black enchanted armor that covers the head, chest, torso and left arm. Also has a ring.
Enchantments- Black armor and ring gives off a feeling of “Negative” energy.
Other- no other notable skills can be said of the captain yet, other than the fact that he can speak, and understand draconian, which I need to talk to him some day about…hm…
Role Type-Skilled Warrior
Combat Rank- S

-Magic-
As far as I can see, he has NO magical talent besides what his equipment can do, and what it can do IS evading my thoughts, like as if even thinking of that armor hurts my head.
Magic Level/Rank- N/A

-Misc-
Seems to have odd habits and peculiarities, believes Dwarfs can fly, calls friends peculiar nicknames, and is a general mystery. Not much is known about the Captain and his past. He is a Leader though, and as my mother once said, “Leaders are born, and Leaders are Leaders, no matter what.”

-End Result-
A man with a mysterious background and believes dwarves fly when humans aren’t looking. You don’t know whether to take him seriously or not. That last question is answered when this man goes into battle fully armored and a completely different man than was seen before. While not the oldest and experienced of our bunch in some ways, it seems he’s gone through trials that most of the world doesn’t even know about. He’s amazingly skilled in close range combat, and though he has no magic of his own, his equipment seem to have abilities.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Doogan- Engineer and Long Range Expert of the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- C
Speed- D
Agility- C
Endurance- C
Pain-Threshold- B
Expertise:
Unarmed- C
Armed- B
Weapon(s) of Preference-
Daggers, seems he can dual wield them and throw them
Armor- None besides what he wears to work in.
Enchantments - None for now.
Other- small height :P
Role Type-Awesome Engineer
Combat Rank- C

-Magic-
Doogan has no magical capabilities, though he swears his love making must be, since its “so great it HAS to be a magic of its own”. He’s still asking me to pend several documents on ‘Magical Doog Lovemaking’….. gotta love the little goof.

-Misc-
-Has amazing accuracy with throwing a knife, I’ve seen him hit a small bottle on the neck from over 30 paces.
-Is the ship’s engineer and official long-range combat specialist (using the catapults and ballista), I’ve seen him hit a small barrel afloat at sea dead on from over 20 ship lengths …and in a storm.
-It’s believed that while in general gnome skulls are tough, Doog’s was strong enough to go through the roof of a bar and walk right after it… I always joke that if we run out of ammo, we just fire HIM at the enemy.
-Also, due to being lit aflame many a time due to failed expiraments and what not, he seems to be quite resistant to burning, though it might also be a gnome thing.

-End Result-
What can be said about the great Doogan? The awesome Doogan, the EPI- right, that’s enough. ‘Doog’, as he is also called, is the resident happy-go-lucky engineer gnome. He repairs and can operate all of the ships weaponry and general machinery. His eyesight perfect, and his experience of ranged weapons vast, Doogan is very important in a ship battle, as no one else can use the ballistas as accurately and effectively as Doog can.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Liam-Special Operations Leader of the Freelancer

-Combat-
Strength- B
Speed- A
Agility- S
Endurance- A
Pain-Threshold- A
Expertise:
Unarmed- C
Armed- S
Weapon(s) of Preference:
-Dual enchanted Tachis (Asian long swords)
-Set of throwing knives and shurikens
- A decent assortment of poisons of varying effects
Armor-
- Enchanted long coat that protects the whole body, it is able to partially absorb and deflect the energy and damage inflicted from magical attacks, (meaning that it doesn’t fully guard him against magic, but it cushions the effects from it, preventing a fireball to roast him completely.) and the effect is constant in it.
-He also possesses a "shadow cloak" which makes him much less visible, especially in poorly lit areas, making him almost invisible in those.
Enchantments-:
-Right now only his blades are enchanted to allow him use of the technique called "drive", more will eventually be added.
Other- Can use stealth at his favor and can leap great distances.
Role Type- Seasoned Merc and Assassin
Combat Rank- A

-Magic-
Destruction/Elements-None (technically he’ll be Adept later)
Illusion-None (later Adept)
Restoration-None
Alteration- None(somewhat Adept later)
Mysticism-None
Enchantments-None
Conjuration-None
Notes: I note that he knows little about magic, just what seemed to be taught to him about some Concealment stuff. Though, it seems he might be interested in learning more, which is just fine, as physically, he can’t get any better.

-Misc-
-He is trained in stealth, as such, he is able to sneak past and behind people, he also has great knowledge in poison making, as such he has gained immunity to most types of poisons.

-End Result-

A trained killer. He’s a quick and efficient, the ‘rogue’ of our group if you will. He’s the best melee fighter out of all of us with weapons, the only two that have a similar amount of training is Alric with weapons and unarmed, and me unarmed. Again, an efficient and fast fighter, er, killer, Liam kills his opponents quickly, moving from one to another. He’s indefinitely a front-fighter, and can even switch to an Assassin role, to sneak up and Flank the enemies back and sides, where he’ll do the most damage. With his cloaking, sneaking, quick killing, and Drive abilities, he really is a great flanker or surprise attacker.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Zero-First Mate of the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- C-B?
Speed- C-B?
Agility- B-A?
Endurance- B-A?
Pain-Threshold C-B?
Expertise:
Unarmed A?
Armed C-B
Combat Ranking: Aw hell smoke smoke can’t be judged on a physical level very well. He’s a fluctuating B-S.
Weapon(s) of Preference-
-Schyte
Armor-
- Black Cloak
Enchantments-
- None aside his devil fruit powers.
Other-
- Thanks to a fruit he ate as a child, Zero gained supernatural powers in the form of smoke, thanks to this Zero can Phase himself into smoke to avoid most physical and magic attacks easily, he is also able to float and use his smoke to bash and attack enemies.
- He has a huge weakness however, if zero gets wet, by any kind of substance, his powers are disabled until he can manage to get dry again.
Role Type-Unique
Combat Rank- B-A?

-Magic-
He has no, nor I believe is capable of, magical powers due to Devil Fruit properties.

-Misc-
- Smokes a lot, no one knows why
- Seems to have a strong, but not total resistance to poisons.

-End Result-
He may be the most unique fighter and member of the crew, due to his powers, he is not really a magic user, but he is not your traditional fighter either, he likes to fight alone, and he is good at doing so, thanks to his ability float and to phase any incoming attack, however, he can be left very vulnerable if he gets wet, and has no outstanding skills above his scythe expertise. He’s good at stirring up trouble, maybe another lone flanker or distraction fighter. His skills certainly draw a crowd. Though, if outnumbered severely, even his Smoke Smoke powers mean nothing.

[[Revision Idea:

I think Zero needs a bit of revision. Instead of a drop of water landing on him and making him completely vulnerable, lets make it balanced.

To not be able to form into smoke, he must be over 50% wet. That, or his face gets wet at all does that too.

IF he’s less than 50% wet, he can smoke form parts of his body that isn’t wet. Example: if his left arm is only wet, he can form the rest of his body to a degree, but his torso and face cant separate too far from his arm. His other arms and legs can smoke form pretty far, but his body and torso can’t form that far away.

If any water hits him in the face, he’s incapable of forming at all.

Also, if in smoke form and things pass through his form, it starts to break his concentration. For example, if he smoke formed completely, and a large group of soldiers march through and actually attack his smoke, it will break his concentration to the point where he reforms into his normal self, but can reform into his smoke form again in a moment. This ‘form break’ can be done by certain elements passing through his smoke form. Wind, Fire, or Ice going through his smoke form of considerable mass can cause him to ‘Form Break’. If water hits him, he form-breaks immediately. And if this water is massive enough, it will stop him reforming into smoke until dry.

Also, the more smoke he makes, the less effectively he can control it, and the less he can use it.

All of these revisions make him a little more balance, rather than a ‘this-or-that’ character.]]

----------------------------------------------------------------------

James-Ship Mage of the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- C
Speed- C
Agility- B
Endurance- C
Pain-Threshold- C
Expertise:
Unarmed- B-A
Armed- N/A
Weapon(s) of Preference-
-None, I have a curse that prevents me the use of any kind of weapon, even a rock, stick, or cooking knife will shatter in my hands if I attempt to attack with it.
Curse Info: It’s noted as the Curse of Weapon Decay. It’s strong, immensely, and flows from generation to generation. There are other properties to the curse, but little is known about it.
- However, I am trained in martial arts, and might be able to face off a group of unarmed people or perhaps one armed person, but no more than that, barring I’m not using magic, which increases my chances some.
Armor-
- Enchanted monk outfit that gives me slight protection against magic and physical attacks.
Enchantments-
- I have many small enchantments on my robes and focuses. Since I prefer the cold, I have my clothing heavily enchanted with Cooling spells too. On hot days my clothing will emit a cool steam around me due to the difference in heat from my clothes and the surrounding air.
- Strange bandana that protects my mind against mental manifestations of magic, it also looks to be able to suppress his unique draconian runes.
Also I have a bandana that protects my mind against mental manifestations of magic, it suppresses my …..other side somewhat too.
Other- I carry a Grey-Scaled book with me that’s in complete Draconic and Magical language, and is unreadable to anyone besides me or certain others with strong ties to Dragons or Magic. Even I can’t read all of it yet, as some pages need referencing to for me to understand them.
Role Type- Psychotic Sage.
Combat Rank- C

-Magic-
Destruction/Elemental-Master
Illusion-Adept
Alteration-Adept
Restoration-Adept
Mysticism- Master
Enchantments-Master
Conjuration-None (Conjuration is technically an niche magic class, though it’s not illegal, it’s more taught from the South or private teachings than in Mage schools.)

Magic Notes: I was known as a genius of his time, and only by the age of 18, gained Master status in three fields, and Adept in all others. This is quite the feat, and many thought I would grow to be an ArchMage when I got older (an ArchMage is someone who Master’s all forms of magic, and are one in a billion, as its been recorded only a dozen have ever appeared, one being noted as a ArchSage, someone who’s noted as THE strongest Magic User in the world. A Sage is a very strong Mage basically), but due to an incident… I was kicked out of and banned from all Mage schools, so my official training was put short. Though, between here and today, I still trained, and trained with some….. interesting people, though who I won’t say.

In the Elemental field, I prefer Ice and Wind magic, though I don’t specialize in them like others, I’m starting to show some of the Specialization Manifestations that come with using certain elements so much. I prefers the cold, and my hat seems to never fly away even in gust strong winds.

In Enchantments I’m very strong as well, but not incredibly. I like making interesting Traps and enchantments. I don’t do Hexxes or Curses though, at all. I know how bad they are, and prefer not to do them out of hatred for them [[he CAN do them, he just won’t]]. Also, being good at enchantments, my magic can last longer naturally, as most enchanters are good at keeping magic going in places where they aren’t physically there.

-Misc-
Besides Magic and what Martial Arts I took, I’m not well versed in much else.

-End Result-
I’m the strongest one Magically on the ship. I’m not as much as a Quick Caster like Selina is, I’m more likely to stay in the very back of a fight and rain pure magic on the enemy, causing Chaos generally. My Enchantments of the Ship and people’s weapons and armor help assist in battle, and my abilities in Mysticism help me in subtle ways. When I’m assisting strong allies in battle combining my magic with their strength is when I show my powers, or when being protected while casting an enormous spell that helps turn the tides of battle. I’m capable of Cosmological Spells, but I lack some of the proper items for them as of now. Also, in close combat, my Ghost Hands and Mystic Shield magic help assist me or save my ass for a bit, but even though I like a good fight, I know better than to stand toe to toe with dozens upon dozens of armed soldiers without magic or assistance.

Aru – Alchemist and Assistant of Ship Mage on the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- S-SS
Speed- D
Agility- C
Endurance- B
Pain-Threshold- S-SS
Expertise:
Unarmed C
Armed D
Other:
Flight Speed- B-A
Flight Agility- C-B
Weapon(s) of Preference:
-Gilgamesh: In the form of enchanted gauntlets and boots, this strange bio-metal enables Aru to boost his already un-natural strength and make him even more fearsome, though he has yet to master it. He’ll require some training from me to get better with them beyond a certain level.
Armor-
- Gilgamesh: Again, those gauntlets and boots are immune to magical attacks of any kind, and can easily absorb them, but it only covers his arms and legs, the rest of the body is exposed
- Due to his mix of races, Aru has natural hard skin and magical resistance of his own.
Enchantments- None, and due to his unstable makeup he might be unable to have any.
Other- Has wings that he can eventually use to fly, and this ability can be enhanced thanks to Gilgamesh backpack.
Role Type-Unnatural Tank
Combat Rank- A

-Magic-
Destruction/Elemental-Novice (for now, later adept)
Illusion-Novice
Alteration-Adept (specific though)
Restoration-Novice (if at all)
Mysticism-?
Enchantments-?
Conjuration-?

Notes: What should be seen is that due to his Dryad side, he’s quite capable of using Nature spells, and due to his Draconic side, it should be interesting what he can do with his magic and his knowledge of Alchemy.

-Misc-
-He has some skill in alchemy, and might become more experienced later, making him the only alchemist in the ship.
- His weird genetical makeup make him very unstable, and the effects of many substances or magics might vary on him.

-End Result-
Welcome to the fucked up world I live in where my likely assistant is about five creatures in humanoid form. Part wolf, raven, dryad, dragon and human. He seems to be literate in human and draconic languages, but I don’t know about others, it seems he converses with Ravianna’s bird, so that makes me believe he can also converse with animals of his genetics besides dragon and human. Due to living with a madman alchemist himself, Aru I think knows a bit about alchemy, his texts showing he has indefinitely an interest in it. It would be interesting to have an Alchemist on board, and him likely being my assistant should help, since I know nothing of Alchemy.
Battle wise, Aru is a ‘beast’. His strength, from what I’ve gathered, is beyond that of any being his size, and the Gilgamesh I’ve armed him with only increases his powers more. By my research, he is capable of punching through a castle wall, fully. Due to his treatment at the lab, and Gilgamesh itself, his pain tolerance is likely very high. Also, his dragon/dryad blood and Gilgamesh make him pretty resistant to all but powerful magic. Because of all of this, he’s easily a front-man fighter, right in the thick of things, tearing men to pieces and being the feral fighter he is. Though, he isn’t the fastest of fighters, so a really fast person like Liam or many small targets could overwhelm him until he learns to use his Nature spells and Alchemy to somehow defend from that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ashram-Medic of the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- D-A
Speed- D-B
Agility- D-B
Endurance- D-C
Pain-Threshold C-B
Expertise:
Unarmed- D-C
Armed- C-B
Weapon(s) of Preference-
-Scalpels
- He can alter his body to form many different kind of weapons
Armor-
- None by default, but again, he can alter his body to gain extra protection.
Enchantments-
- None as of now.
Other-
Role Type- “Doc-Alt-Delete”
Combat Rank- D-B

-Magic-
Destruction-?
Illusion-?
Alteration-Master
Restoration-Adept-Expert (well he heals people doesn’t he?)
Mysticism-?
Enchantments-?
Conjuration-?

-Misc-
He is a master alterist, and possesses great restorative expertise, he is not your average priest or healer, but in a sense he can be more effective as he can replace lost body parts and such, just be careful or he might add cat ears to you if you don’t pay attention.

-End Result-
’Lover and fighter’. His restoration and alteration forms make him a good up close and strange fighter. He isn’t beating anyone in pure magic or pure strength though. The best he can be is an Assistance fighter, or Back Guard, where the wounded are dragged back to be healed, or he’s protecting a flank or rear. And even though a medic, I can tell he has a certain lack of morals sometimes, so I bet he has no problem tearing into enemies in the most gruesome ways, could make an interesting interrogator, if it wasn’t for the fact he’d likely kill the poor fellow for fun.

Lately, he’s been shutting himself into some room that I can’t Magic Sight…..I’ll have to look into that……

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Debbi-'Lover' of the Freelancer
Strength- D-A
Speed- D-B
Agility- D-B
Endurance- D-C
Pain-Threshold- C-B
Expertise:
Unarmed- C-B
Armed- C
Weapon(s) of Preference-
-Posseses only a switchblade, but has not used it so far, so its impossible to rate her skill with it yet.
- Like ash, she can later her body to make herself a living weapon, but unlike him, she might be able to do so more quickly and efficiently, making her physically more powerful.
Armor-
- None, but again, as a shapeshifter she can change her endurance and shift forms immediately, allowing her to shrug off most wounds, but she cant regenerate lost limbs.
Enchantments-
-El Shadan: its a small device filled with compressed biomass. It was inserted into the skin, and when used, does away with limitations passed on size. She can grow big or small, while the El Shadan takes away her or gives her more flesh to work with. (Though, it should be noted there is a limitation to the El Shadan. It can’t make you extremely large, and it does put more strain on the shapshifter to use forms much bigger or smaller than normal)
- Arms of War: its a large glowing metal sphere, scarred ritualistically, much like her body. With this inserted into her body, her ability to change speeds up even faster.
Other-
Jimmy: It is an Ori'kai, a shape shifter's familiar. Born of the blood of fallen shifters, Ori'kai are shape shifting spies and companions beyond compare, linked to their masters by bonds of blood.

Role Type- “Battle whore”
Combat Rank- D-B

-Magic-
Debbie, being a shapeshifter, can’t use magic outside of her own body technically. The only exception is when she takes an Elemental form, she can then use a certain extent of Elemental spells of the elemental form she’s in.

-Misc- She Likes to use her shapeshifting ability to seduce and sleep with other men, or women, she can also use this to disguise herself to gain more notoriety or keep a low profile.
-From what I’ve seen of her past, its been an extreme convoluted and tortured one, and it makes me wonder why she still does the things she’s done…. makes me pity her, to live such a life, and not know the irony you live.
-Due to our…..’connection’ incident, I keep having flashes of her memories, which I assume they are memories. Anyways, I’ve written down what I saw before losing it, and reading back, I wonder if that connection did anything else so far, and if that connection still exists……..

-End Result-
Don’t try to bitch-slap the local whore. She’ll show you a good time, and treat her wrong, kill you painfully and without remorse.
Being a ShapeShifter, she’s much faster and more efficient in using alteration magic to her own body, better than ash to some extant, and more so with her new toys she’s gotten.
She would be a good information getter, a spy. She could form into many an alluring person, and get plenty of information, then kill the person before leaving.
In battle, she’s a mix up. She could be on the front lines easily, helping to create chaos with her different forms, a good Assistance Fighter on the front lines, all around mix-up fighter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ravianna-Scout and Doog's Assistant of the Freelancer
Strength- C
Speed- A
Agility- A
Endurance- B
Pain-Threshold- C
Expertise:
Unarmed- C
Armed- A
Weapon(s) of Preference-
- Half a dozen daggers of varying shapes and sizes, can throw them or use them in close quarters.
Armor-
- None apart from her normal clothing
Enchantments-
- none for now
Other-
- She has a bond with a raptor hawk "Artessia" she is able to talk to her and tessi serves as companion and a extra set of eyes and claws for Rav.
Role Type- “Raptor Scout”
Combat Rank- B

-Magic-
She seems to have no magical ability besides her tie with her hawk….how this can be exploited is YET to be seen.
-Misc-
- Her bond with her hawk is unique, they have a very good chemistry, and thanks to tessi, rav makes for an excellent scout, it seems that rav might become an apprentice of sorts for doog, learning to use the cannons and ballista of the ship.

-End Result-
Lets speak the truth, she’s a scout, not a fighter. She can hold her own in battle, but not for a long time. She’s a Mid to Back fighter, using her connection with her overhead hawk artessia for relaying information in the heat of battle to important people like Al or James or Doog. Also, she could throw her knifes from mid to back range to help, and use her great speed to avoid enemies.
I know little else of her, and it seems she has some sort of relationship with Ashram, from what crewmembers say about a certain naked Alterist leaving her room.

Selina-Navigator of the Freelancer

Strength- D
Speed- B
Agility- B
Endurance- C
Pain-Threshold- D
Expertise:
Unarmed- D-C
Armed- B-A
Weapon(s) of Preference-
-Dagger with focus at the end of the hilt.
- She even found a sword that nearly resembled her dagger, with a focus at the pommel. It was a well made katana and she quickly belted it on. She'd have to ask someone to train her in its use.
Armor-
- An elegant black dress embroidered in silver with a plunging neck line that laced upwards. More importantly, it was enchanted to soften physical blows, and to reflect anything of novice level magic and even some weaker adept level magic.
Enchantments- none for now
Other- she seems to have magic PMS right now… :P
Role Type- “FlashMage”
Combat Rank- C

-Magic-
Destruction-Expert-Master
Illusion-Definitely Expert (maybe become an Expert, you were a thief, and Illusion is a thief thing)
Alteration-Adept
Restoration-Adept
Mysticism-Novice
Enchantments-Master (Maybe better than James at enchantments even)
Conjuration-Adept (master later. This form of magic, basically summoning, it fairly rare since it's intricate and requires "contracts" with the summon, which are hard to get, and require a certain eloquence and panache to convince a summon to agree to be bound. Weaker creatures can be forced. Possible to bind creatures into weapons, but not suggested. It pisses them off.)

Magic Ranking/Level- Over all, between Expert and Master. Not QUITE at master level, but almost there.

Also, since her fainting incident, I’ve tried to keep watch of her…what I saw is HIGHLY unusual, and if my books say what they are saying……[[the rest seemed to be erased hurriedly, making it unreadable]]

-Misc-
She the Navigator, so she’s very useful to us on the open seas and stormy nights…and she can sew clothing with magic apparently, to fix ripped clothing.

-End Result-
Again, ‘FlashMage’ is a good description for a reason. Whereas James is the heavy hitter of magic, usually, Selina is more of a Quick Caster, able to mix it up with her weapons and quick and innovative use of magic on the frontlines. She’s another mix up fighter actually. On the Front and Mid-Lines, she uses her enchanted weapons and her quick casting magic, usually fire it seems, to do some decent damage on the front lines. In the back, she could protect James during a powerful spell or assist him even. She CAPABLE of Cosmological spells, but not as much as me I believe.

Seems to have a relationship with Liam…..or that poor soul Liam is in puppy love with her and she’s rarely returning it, I’ve yet to see.

Jamie-Bartender of the Freelancer
-Combat-
Strength- C
Speed- C
Agility- B
Endurance- C
Pain-Threshold- D
Expertise:
Unarmed- D
Armed- C
Weapon(s) of Preference-
- Some daggers
- Poisons
Armor-
- A toga-like robe
Enchantments-
- A Flask of Holding
- Pendant of Sheru’s Love
Other-
Role Type-“Lush Nymph”
Combat Rank- D

-Magic-

Elemental-N/A? (Later, she might learn more, though she’s best at liquids)
Illusion-Adept (A technicality, she’s only trained in doing Concealment magic)
Alteration-?
Restoration-?
Mysticism-?
Enchantments-?
Conjuration-?

Notes: Her magic as a nymph is considered a Born Trait, and not part of the Elemental magics for that reason (If you were to rate her in how well she controls alcohol, its Master level). She has trained in Illusion magic, though only in Concealment magic. She wishes to learn more about the Elements though, and is hoping that helps her become much stronger in her nymph powers.
Note: Also, without the Pendant, if fire were to ever touch her, she would light completely aflame or even blow up apparently. That Pendant helps prevent fire from harming for a bit, but its power only lasts so long before turning off. The Pendant will drain from Jamie’s own magical source if the Pendant feels that its own source can’t prevent the fire. This will tire Jamie, and soon, will cause her to be unconscious, and then the Pendant will shut off. Still, that’s better than dead.

Magic Ranking/Level: Hard to determine due to born traits. But without it, only a Novice-Adept level. Her Born Trait is Expert-Master level of controlling alcohol.

-Misc-
-She’s skilled with a dagger, and can throw it with some accuracy over long ranges.
-She’s also VERY skilled with poisons, and can mix them and use them very well. (She puts a drop of strong acohol in each, so she can control the poisons).
-Of course, she’s also very good at mixing drinks and what not, being a bartender and all.
-She’s a good theif too, following the five-fingered discount rule very well. Failing that, she’s a great bargainer.

-End Result-
This bartender is packing a lot more power than you think. She’s handy with her knife and poisons, and her nymph powers only make her that much stronger. Coupled with some good Concealment spells and her times as a thief, she’s also a crafty scout to an extant. In battle though, it’s best if she stays in the mid-to-back lines. Her magic with Illusions can help protect her, and her dealing with poisons COULD make her an interesting fighter, but she isn’t a trump card in battle, just an assistance. Her nymph powers could definitely help, especially if the enemy has had a few drinks before battle….

Also….quite the pretty girl, and gave me my fi-[[the rest seemed to be erased very hurriedly, making it unreadable]]

Nature Magic- A subset of Elemental.

Nature magic varies from Elemental magic in the same way Shapeshifting varies from Alteration. Nature magic is solely the manipulation of the forces of nature, it cannot create elements like elemental magic can, for example elemental magic can create a fireball out of thin air, nature magic could only manipulate a fire that was already there. Nature magic is fare more highly skilled and proficient in the manipulation of the forces of nature however.

Nature magic is largely restricted to nymphs only, although shapeshifters in elemental forms, certain dragons and in very rare cases other species are capable of it.

Nature magic itself is divided up into earth, water, fire, air and wood. Each one is the focus of a different type of nymph.

Earth: Earth nature magic is the focus of the pygmies. They are capable of the manipulation of such, from turning hard packed soil into sand and vise versa, creating weapons from the earth, forming stalagmites, among other things. The strongest ones are known to be capable of creating devastating earthquakes. Earth nature magic is also capable of forming walls and defenses and is generally the best at being a form of protection.

Water: Water nature magic is the focus of the naiads. They are capable of the manipulation of such, creating spouts, watery arms and tendrils, whirlpools and other things. The more powerful naiads are capable of creating devastating tsunamis and even drawing the water out of living things. Water manipuation also involves the nurturement of things, from providing moisture to flushing out poisons and toxins.

Fire: Fire nature magic is the focus of the djinns. Although generally considered the strongest because of its destructive power, fire tends to be the rarest, only really occurring in certain areas, such as those with volcanic activity, although anything from a simple burning match can be manipulated by them.

Air: Air nature magic is the focus of the zephyrs. This is considered the most abundant of the elements and the easiest to manipulate. Zephyrs and others proficient in air nature magic are capable of turning a small breeze into a tornado, or drawing all the air away from a space, creating a vacuum of air.

Wood: Wood nature magic is the focus of the dryads. This one alters slightly from the others. Whereas the others have a greater use for destruction, with the exception being water, wood has a greater focus on growth and life. Wood nature magic is able to stimulate and accelerate the growth in plants, creating things like the common root or tangle weed spell, or thorns and spikes on trees. Its use as a weapon alters slightly as the bigger focus is on the manipulation and growth of plants, from their barbs, thorns, spikes and roots all the way to their toxins and poisons.

more to come later.
