| Liam was still asleep when the first ballista made contact, a crash of that impact woke him up immediately, getting back to his senses, he knew right away that the ship was under attack, so he wasted no time and took his poisons and eqquiped his daggers, he was still fully dressed from yesterday so he did not need to dress up, still, he also decided to take out the shadow cloak, if it was another ship attacking, it would come in handy for boarding.
Liam wasted no more time and left his room, he headed to the main deck and found that the ship was indeed being attacked, Liam looked around, trying to see if there is anything he could do in the meantime, he could not help in a ship firefight anyway.
Time for that gnome to prove his worth... _________________ Hell Hath no fury like a woman you really shouldn't have slept with.

| Selina lost her footing as the ship shook. It was a characteristic shaking that meant one of a couple things: Vespars or pirates. neither were good things.
She grabbed up her equipment deftly, completely forgetting her sore shoulder, and headed for the upper deck, looking for her birthday present from Doog. He gave it to her a year ago (not on her actual birthday, mind you) and named it Furgle the Fuhrer, setting it up in an alcove of the upper ship. She slipped in behind it and began channeling magic into it, flipping a couple switches. There wasn't a reason to really navigate anything. the enemy was THATAWAY!!!!!
First she turned on the self defense barrier, channeling her mysticism magic into it. She didn't know much about that particular brand of magic, but she didn't have to. that's the way the little genius had designed it. Next she flipped the last switch and began channeling in destruction magic. it would take a ponderous 5 minutes to charge, but by using several different forms of destruction magic, she could find out if the other ships defenses had certain weaknesses to certain elements. since the barrier would be powered by a ship mage, it was a matter of finding out what he wasn't prepared for, or wasn't skilled at shielding. mostly, it would keep him busy while physical blasts from the others would rock the enemies world.
A nifty little prototype. If it's helpful, maybe Doog would like to make some more. _________________ I have no witty retorts... just guns and some knives... oh and a basement full of torture gear.... and bullets of course.... also various poisons.... yeah.... who needs wit? | The shaking of the ship as it was being attacked managed to scare the living shit out of Ashram. Given that he hadn't found anyone else to do alchemy for him, he had to finish the part of his work that didn't violate certain ethics on his own. Though to him it was the most dangerous part. Making the bombs. Such shaking could cause an accident. So he of couse stopped trying to make bombs when the attack started. Though he at least finished one of the easier bomb type to make. He only had about six of them made but he grabbed them all and quickly started making his way up to the deck. When he saw Doogan he was the one he wanted to find.
"Doog! Doog! Attatch these to your return fire! Poison bombs! Their gunners won't be able to shoot back with deadly poison everywhere! Assholes could have killed me. Don't they know it's rude . . . impolite . . . just plain mean to shoot at boats when beloved and respected doctors are in the middle of making bombs? I should turn into a fish man, go over there, and EAT THEIR FACES!!!"
Ashram then held out his poison bombs and quickly ran by an explanation on how they worked. If Doog used them, he should be the one to decide which gunners get them. Not like Ashram knew who the most accurate people were. _________________

| Debbi was up and moving with the first attack. She moved faster than any human, was up on the deck in record time, looking about wildly. Her Doogan was up here somewhere, and she aimed to find him. _________________

| Jamie had just finished re-bandaging James, when the explosion rocked the ship. James quickly dived over Jamie and covered over her as soon as the explosions happened. Once James knew that nothing once falling down, he got up quickly, knowing already what had been damaged and where, due to his connection with the ship. This wasn’t something of an accident, they were being attacked.
James turned to Jamie, a different person already. He has a look of concentration on him, despite looking a mess.
“Jamie, you okay? Someone just attacked the ship, or something. Please, if anything starts to get bad, go to my room or get off the deck at least….. I wouldn’t want something to happen to you…” James helps Jamie up while saying this, and gives a last kiss before heading to his room, noticing his traps are all up and working.
James picks up a few scrolls, focuses, and a pair of special ‘Combat’ Focus Gloves, enchanted. He puts them on, though his left arm is still in a sling and useless.
James runs upstairs about the point the mast collapses, though it lands nowhere near him. He looks over where everyone else is looking, and sees the pirate ship. James looks for the cap, but only sees Zero and then Doog, ordering the all fire.
James walks up to Doog, knowing he looked like he went through all nine hells and back, but he put a smirk on, and adapted the ((think Russian)) strange accent one of his teachers use to use, and says, “Doog, what can Mage do for YOU.” seeing as the cap isn’t here, as Daniel had said something about Zero in charge, though Doog is the ship combat expert _________________

| Doogan is having a hard time. The explosions rocking the ship are making it difficult for his gunners to return fire. But they were well trained and return fire they did. The other problem seemed to be the wind. It was favoring the pirate ship. At the last minute bolts and flaming pitch seemed to be caught by it and moved enough from their targets to do only superficial damage. I'll bet they have weather mages. It explains the mist. and the wind. But to have this much effect it must be a whole team of them working in unison.
Doogan scampered over to betsy. on his way ash tried to tell him something about Poison bombs but doogan missed most of it. He just grabed the amuniton and charged onward to bessy.
"load these to the bolt." he shouted to brutis.
"ON MY MARK EVERYONE FIRE AT THEIR MIDSHIPS! LETS SEE THEM TURN ALL OUR FIRE!"
Doogan took aim.
"FIRE"
A hail of deadly projectiles arced toward the Blacklighters midships. Some were turned by wind but many found their mark. Including one ball of pitch that had found the pirate ships sails. The bolt doogan had fired was releasing some sort of gas. through his scope he could see the enemy crew gasping and clawing at their throats where the gas cloud settled over them. Then figures in robes apeard and the gas cloud dissapated. The figures gathered together in a semicircle. suddenly the fog increased rolling over the pirate ship hiding it again. Dammit! their getting away! It was clear the pirates were retreating under cover of magic. His gunners had damaged the Blacklighter severly in that last barage.
James showed up about then and asked what he could do to help in some strange accent. wow he looks beat up. Looking around the ship was in bad condition. It was clear repairs were going to be necesary. The pirates would be back that much was certain and the ship was going to need to be ready for them. Doogan uses his spyglass. on the horizon to the east he spots what appears to be a small island. Doogan doesn't remember any islands on the maps in this area but hey he'd take what he could get.
"We need to make for that uninhabited islands to the east *points it out to james* and make repairs. Is there anyway you can help make sure the ship doesn't fall apart before we get there?" _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. | He says this as though I'm just gonna stay down here. Jamie quickly gathered as much vodka as she could shoulder before dumping it rather unceremoniously into a shoulder bag. Then she went back for some of the distilled shit under her bed. If the ship sunk, then what? I'd be trapped in here. That's no good. I mean, I'd only have enough booze to get me through a week or two. Tops.
Then, of course, she remembered James' gift, the Flask of Holding. Which was conveniently perched atop her bedside table. Instead of using her bag like an idiot, she went to fill the flask. She was filling for quite awhile, too. The bar wasn't empty, per se, but it had definitely been drained of its resources.
Hearing some of the explosions, she ran on deck as fast as she could (she got a little lost and somehow wound up going down a flight first, but that's a different story). She saw Deegan yelling to James:
| TheGrayCrayon wrote: | | "We need to make for that uninhabited islands to the east *points it out to james* and make repairs. Is there anyway you can help make sure the ship doesn't fall apart before we get there?" |
Looking down rather sadly at her bag of booze, she knew she wouldn't just be using it to kick some ass. *siiiiiiiiigh*... "I can help there, Deeg ol' buddy," she said somewhat forlornly. Walking over to the edge of the ship (the one away from the pirates), she poured out all of the vodka and distilled liquors into the water. Closing her eyes, she lifted both of her hands, palms upward, before bringing them in and pushing them out to either side.
...
She'd expected to feel a bit of rocking. She'd just attempted to make a wave to move the ship, after all. You'd think it would've been moving.
Looking across - really looking this time - she saw that the ship wasn't as small as she'd thought. No, apparently it was big enough to house a small army. Comfortably. With guests.
Well shit, that was a waste of perfectly good booze... _________________ "You may need to metaphorically make a deal with the devil. By 'devil' I mean robot devil and by 'metaphorically' I mean get your coat." ~Bender from Futurama

| Aru looked down at the broken main mast that was in the water. Well thats not fucking good. "We need to get that out of the water or we're only going to spin in circles!" He shouted, grabbing one of the rigging lines from it and starting to pull with all his might. "Help me get the mast out of the water!" He shouts at the grunts, planting his feet firmly on the slippery deck and pulling the rigging line. _________________

| As Liam was striding across the deck he noticed that the main mast had fallen down, and near it was that chimera, shouting about needing help to lift it up, Liam was still sore about last day, he didnt like that beast at all, but it was right, that mast needed to be lifted back or else they would be sitting ducks in there, so he decided to run straight at it and help with it, as he run towards it, he noticed many crew members assembling and going there to help too.
As Liam arrived, he saw the chimera clearly, struggling and using a great deal of strenght to pull the mast back, his effort was commendable, even if Liam didnt trust in that thing, so he grabbed one of the rigging lines nearby and began to pull, turning to look at the chimera, at one point, the chimera turned back, And Liam only threw him a dry smile, silently challenging it. _________________ Hell Hath no fury like a woman you really shouldn't have slept with.

| James nodded at Doog, and mentally checked the ship
Damn, a couple of breaches…..but those rooms are already been sealed by the crewmembers, good job….and nothing vital besides the mast has been damaged, and no important rooms…..overall, we could’ve been a worse position
James looked over at Aru, who has starting to lift up the mast, though it seems he was getting help from the crew obviously and others.
James felt the boat shift a little, and start to move, if only enough for James to notice. James felt the emenations of magic being used, and looked over to see Jamie up at the deck, hard at work. James used his “magic sight” to see Jamie was, with the help of alcohol, making some waves and what not to push the boat…but it’s a big boat, and James alone, without some artifacts, would have trouble…
James walked up Jamie, making sure not to break her concentration, and silently place three small orb staffs in a triangle around both of them, and sat down cross legged.
Help a women in need….
James concentrated, and his head slumped forward, as James went into the ‘Magic Zen’ mode. He could see the Sea as it was magically, and its one of the most prettiest sights imaginable, but its no time for site seeing.
I’m so tired though, I can only help out so much….
James used his medallion of The Pentacle, and one of the Sea, to aid him in his spell, and the small orb staffs glowed blue. He reached out magically into the sea, and poured some of his magic to manipulate it..
Soon, the boat started to pick up more speed, but James could only do this for so long in the state he’s in…
Thank the Gods Jamie’s helping, James thought, as sweat started to appear down his face, though no one could see. _________________

| Doogan and the gunners help pull the mast back out of the water. Doogan in particular helps by running down the fallen mast and starting to pull up wet sailcloth and rigging with care. cutting away what had become tangled to be repaired later. Doogan was almost done when the mast rolled to the left throwing him into the water. This in itself wasn't a problem. Doogan was an excelent swimmer. But he fell into the sailcloth which enveloped him in a tangled cacoon underwater. Before he could even think to himself "and me without my dagger." something grabbed him. Suddenly strong hands were tearing the cloth from around him and pulling him to the surface. He sputtered once as they broke the surface. Debbie's fins receded they were pulled up the side of the ship.
"Idiot be more careful. What if i lost you?"
"To a sailcloth? never my beautiful lady. I was just about to convince that sailcloth that if it didn't let me go i would see to it that it would be stiched into underwear for Liam. It not wanting to have to touch Liams intamates naturaly it would have thrown me back onto the ship."
She kisses him as they are hauled over the side. With the heavy wet sailcloth and rigging gathered in and almost every free hand in the crew helping they finaly got the mast out of the water. It now was laying lengthwise across the ship. causing the ship to list slightly to port but nothing that couldn't be corrected.
"If i don't miss my guess we'll be to the island by morning. I'll go suggest to the captin pro tem that we get parties ready to head out and gather materials to repair the mast with. Cappins not gonna be happy that his boat got banged up."
Doogan looks through his spyglass at the island. Huh? wonder why thats not on the maps? Nice sized island and all that. Plenty of trees for Ship repairs. Maybe its uncharted. And I discoverd it! That means by right of finding i get to name it. Doogans Island. Or maybe Gnomeland. Or the Lowport archipeligo. Hmmmmm i'll have to think about this some more. _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read. ~Groucho Marx My doogan is four feet tall. ~TGC

| Aru lay on the deck next to the mast gasping for breath. He hadn't had any time to recover from the fight and pulling up the mast, even with the others, took a toll on him. He rolled over onto his stomach slowly, pushing himself up off the deck.
He leaned on the mast for support, looking out at everyone else, when the mast rolled out from behind him, causing him to fall on his ass. Debbi rushed passed him, diving into the water.
The fuck?
He looked out in time to see Debbi burst out of the water holding onto Doogan. He rushed over and helped get them back onto the ship, using the rigging line he had pulled on earlier.
They both moved on, Doogan talking to the others. Aru spent the time recovering again, before getting up and stretching. He noticed James and Jamie near the back of the ship, magic eminating from both.
So they are moving the ship huh...interesting.
He looked over at Doogan.
"Well in that case.... I think I'll retire to my room and catch some shut eye. Wake me when we are close enough to send some dingy's out and I'll help with the recovery effort.."
He strolled down below deck, returning to his new makeshift lab and collapsing on a bed. He lay there for a moment before sighing and getting up, grabbing a book from a pile.
Damn fucking conscience....
He went back above deck and sat next to James and Jamie, flipping open the book.
"Haven't done this in ages....don't expect me to be of much help..." He muttered.
He started mumbling the words for the spell. _________________

| ---Several Hours Earlier---
Exiting the portal Alric had to reorient himself with his surroundings. steping from a rocking seabound boat to dry land was a dizzying experiance yet he regained his balance in a moment. He turned around to see the large stone from which he emerged. It was stone sphere that was as large as a house with a dizzing amount of tiny runes covering it as well (as alric had once learned) a map of the known world at its top marked with each major city. Behind this sphere was large orange Dragon, a young looking boy in regal orange robes, and quite a few people also in orange however they were much simpler and faces covered.
Alric put on a happy face and walked to the familiar face. "Hail!" He called in Draconic "Ferendon it's been far too long!" The dragon did the equivelent of smile and replied "Indeed friend, but come meet Agian, Son of Caspian, who has recently retired his robes."
"We met." they say simutaniously. "I knew your father well" Alric told the boy "He was a fine Knight. Who now is the head of your order?"
"Gandon, sir." Replied the boy.
"We're the same rank now Agian you dont have to call me sir." "Yes s... Alric." "Now, Gandon you say? The geezer he might not live another year carrying that heavy robe of his" "But He's only a few years older than you" Alric laughed at this "Yes but I never let him forget it, but sadly I have buisness to attend and must be off. Ferendon it's always a pleasure and it was good to meet you Agian." The dragon nodded his head in farewell and Agian shook his hand. And Alric started to walk to the north where the men in orange Robes were encamped, He requted a horse and rode to the north towards the City.
A weeks ride will do me good. I'll stop by the Citadel while im there too.
