The Mythos Prerogative: Sonim (from the creator of Mercs!)

History is something that is not to be considered trivial under any circumstances. However, in some cases, the fact of history matters much less than the idea of a past.
The difference you see is that history is a collection of perceptions giving insight into the origin of something, a sense of past is the idea that there is something there to find. With this said I introduce you to the world of Sonim. Sonim you see is a world who’s idea of past is no different than you or I, with the single exception that they do not have a concept of where they come from, and as far as they are concerned this is how everything has always been, is, and will remain. They have no concept of other planets, peoples, worlds, or anything outside their own sphere of experience. However due to the events of a small group of people who inhabit this strange world, this idea of isolation is going to be shaken to the point where a return to the previous way of thought is impossible.

We do not know a lot about this project however what we do will become quickly apparent. Sonim is a world where the idea of a surface hasn’t occurred to many, and those who have are more often than not considered madmen. It is a society that has lived its entire known history inside of what amounts to a giant three dimensional Maze all of the “civilized” sections are on level 0 which is called the Home level by the locals, since it is always safe, easy to navigate, and leads to every major city. Cities are found on Home level and are giant openings ranging from the size of a small village to an expanse large enough to have its own weather systems, the larger of them can be accessed by up to twenty levels above although Home is where the ground is and therefore the best entrance. We have holistic surveillance of the Home level and two levels up and down, The safest of levels and where most civilization is. Anything beyond is only known by studying the people of who live in home but travel to the more dangerous lower and upper levels.

The people are split into two distinctive groups, one with a society that mirrors that of ancient China, and another who shows the characteristics of Classical Greece. From watching the interaction between the two differing cultures we know there is a greater threat somewhere in the maze, however without an audio feed we do not know what is it, all we know is that it comes from the lower levels and both sides cultures send soldiers and guards constantly, some who return injured with claw, bite, sword, and other misc. wounds. It’s a very rare occasion they send any sort of sizable force at each other and often regretted afterwards.

Secondary assignments are as followed:

Discover origin and exit point of the “Light Bugs” who migrate back and forth, casting a biological light lasting 20 hours in any given area before moving to another, and then after a week that group disappears, Do not know to where, nor do we know if that specific group returns. Explore and research.

If possible research Soil fertility in major areas, (assumed remote access is acquired)

Discover new open areas with Mineral Deposits in order to observe how mines are established.
