I think that might be more of a personal call ... i.e. if someone doesn't really want to show off their stats they might not post them ... I however rather enjoy showing off my +7 STR modifier at first level =D

Aku, I'm gonna be polite here, and ask that you use the same system as everyone else. Either everyone does point buy or everyone does dice roll, that's the fairest thing. This is my call as the DM, and don't mean to be rude but letting one person create their character in a completely different manner than everyone else is really not fair, regardless of whether or not it makes you weaker or stronger.

Still trying to be polite but also being blunt at the same time, you're coming off as very very bossy and demanding. My personal opinion on the issue, as this is how I handle things in my PnP games, is that the ONLY person to see a character sheet EVER is the player and the DM, and I was VERY reluctant to do differently here... you should be happy that you convinced me to even ALLOW people to show off their stats, because normally I wouldn't, normally I would have said "FOIG" (Find Out In Game).

Gotcha chief, Didn't mean to come across in that fashion. I'll back it up and send my character shortly.

Edit:Actually, because there is personality conflicts already I'm going to bow out now before there is any real trouble. Adios, all.

Fair enough then... that means there's an open slot if we'd like to recruit another player.

Okay, checklist time!

KAHOU:
- Character Sheet: Check!
- Need Backstory

PORGON:
- Character Sheet: Check!
- Backstory: Check!

JACK:
- Character Sheet: Check!
- Backstory: Short, but Check!

DRACHE:
I remember you saying you were having trouble finding your books so you couldn't make your character. Send me a PM with everything you need, I'll be happy to type up what I can to help you out. :)

FIFTH PLAYER:
- Need someone interested, or do you guys want to just run this as four? For once we have a fairly balanced party (Arcanist, Divine healer, Trapfinder, and main tank... sort of), which is a rarity in my own PnP games, having someone along as a pure fighter-type would be nice but not required.

Also, a bit on how the game will work.

Normal text is something that is happening now, active and directly-visible occurrence. "Anything in quotes is spoken word."

Text in italics is something that occurred in another time or place. Usually this will be used for area descriptions, lore/knowledge checks, that sort of thing. "Italic text in quotes is for things like storytelling, things heard second-hand."

<Text in arrow brackets denotes an alternate form of communication - psionics, telepathy, similar things not spoken out loud.>

[Text in square brackets denotes OOC commentary, I ask that you do the same or post any OOC stuff in this thread.]

Bold text has no new meaning, simply denotes emphasis and other things it normally does.

Underlined text denotes the name of an item, historical figure, spell, or anything else that will usually require a check of some sort to identify.

Spoiler:

This is, of course, with the exception of the OOC brackets not any restriction on you guys, this is just an explanation of how my typing works IC. You guys are free to do as you wish, just as long as I can understand what you're doing.

I'd like to start this by April 1st if at all possible, we can go ahead and start with four players and if a fifth becomes interested I can work them into the storyline as necessary (given the party cooperates Razz). So Kahou I need a basic backstory by then; Drache feel free to send me a PM for any further info you need that the SRD couldn't give you Smile

Heh, I guess I wasn't clear enough....

Those of you who are approved, go ahead and start posting in the other thread. Thus far it's just RP, but the following info should probably be explained in your post: why you're in Haven, how long you've been there (more than three days and less than ten, as said in the intro), what you've been doing in that time, and where you've been staying (there are two inns - The Naughty Nymph in the Central District, and The Smashed Orc in the much rougher West District - or if your character has a contact somewhere in the city they might be staying with, or for the arcanist types there's the Wizards' College, then that's that), along with what your plans are. From there we'll go along.

Drache, you're the only one I'm still waiting on stuff from, anything I can do to help?
