| Against my better judgement, I'll post some old journal entries I had made on Myspace.....
No, not day-to-day entries, these are personal thoughts, expansions on beliefs and ideas and slapped onto myspace for all of my sixteen friends to see...
So... Unless I'm wrong and there's a thread for this...without furtherr ado...
Time Stands Still..... (based and 'counters' a friends favorite phrase when depressed)

They seem to have everything you want going for them....
They seem to be moving faster in life than you...
That time for you had slowed to a still..
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
FOCUS on one thing at a time first...
Then ACT, take that first step, do or die...
And NEVER pause, for stopping in the begining will only bring you back to that unfocused, confused, and still world.
It's okay to slow down for a break after speeding along in life for a while, but don't slow down the river when the water is still stagnant.....

We act differently with who we are around......
Since we act differently all the time, are we still being honest?
Is it just that we have different personas we call upon for the times we need them.....
Many have just one or two, others have hundreds.....
An actor can be hundreds of different people, but he can't change who he truly is, or can he?
It's always the quiet ones.....
We have our good sides, our protective angelic kindness......
We have our dark sides, our devilish destructive evilness....
We have our neutral intelligence, with a passion for knowledge, a hunger never fulfilled.......

They took it all away, they deserve the same.....
We have our energetic go-getting side, expression ultimatum.....
We have our imaginative, manipulative, but chained artist
chained animal with poetic....

Where does the dawn begin and dusk end, and why is there no in between?
I hear silence, I see pitch something, I feel empty space, I speak mute, I smell nothing....
To conquer our persona's, to hold them in leash, to be able to switch between and eventually meld them into one cohesive you.....
The you that you sought to find.....
But there is a price for all great things.......
It's always the quiet ones
They took it all away, they deserve the same....

Ask yourself this..... Is it insanity.......when you put it on yourself..... Is it insanity......When you control it.....Is it insanity.......when you function like everyone else, and would never harm the innocent.....Is it.........

To the Stars Above......

It may seem foolish, but how else will you see what's beyond this world?
Reach out for that impossible goal, to touch another star.....
When you reach the moon, be grateful, learn all you can from it, then continue on....
When you reach another planet, be grateful again, and learn all you can, remember what you learned from the moon and the earth and apply that to the planet's teaching, and the continue on......
Remember, while on you're journey, keep your feet firmly planted on the earth, so you may never forget where you came from, for your past may not be you, but it is part of you.
IF you ever do reach that star you aimed for, be grateful that you reached your goal, learn all you can, remembering the teaching from your past, and then……
Look out, see another star, and begin reaching out for it…….. |
Violence is Just Harsh Love (I've heard good things of this one, but please no debates, or heads will roll)

Mankind is an active species, always changes, and always controlled by our emotions. The most 'logical' of people: scientists, leaders, religious people; easily swing into the most illogical of states: mad scientists, dictators, religious zealots
swing, swing, the pendulm swings.
It is impossible for world peace, just a relapse for war.
If there is world peace, it's the day humans no longer exist.
the silence is deafening....
I am not a pessimist, I'm actually seen as a optimist, for I believe that mankind will survive, but the good in the world must stand up against the evil, no matter what the cost, no matter what the cost.
the cost is great, the reward greater, do it unasked, the good triumph
Nice guys finish last....
Bad guys finish second.....
Good guys finish first.
the nice guy tries to talk, the bad guy beats up and threatens the nice guy, the good guy breaks the bad guys neck, heh.

Art is..... (ironic, since somewhere else on the forum was talking about science vs art)
| Spoiler: | | | When something is an art, it's means honestly expressing one's-self in certain form, whether it be in paintings, music, or the body and mind.
Visual art can be paintings, putting one's-self in visual form, freeze-framing your thoughts and emotions into a single image, captured in your style and way. Nations create flags and coins and dollars with exact images, symbols of their society. Every time an visual artist strokes a brush, etches a drawing, even snaps a beautiful picture, they learn the meaning of art, and themselves. Visual art is not just brush strokes and photographs, but a way of life.
Music is putting one's-self in audio form. Many take music as an industry, a business. Everything must unfortunately be connected to money these days, but music is not a business, but just another way of life, a way of expressing one's-self. How is it that an group of four to six (or little more) can get ten-thousand people to all scream and sing along with them, compeltely envoloped in the sound and emotions? Music is truly this world's last legal drug, if it can get millions of people addicted to it, all with just 4 minutes of words and notes. Music is not just notes and words though, but a way of life.
And then there's Martial Arts. The way of physically expressing one's-self. Some get into the martial arts to get in shape, to learn cool kick, some for self defense, and others go specifically to shape the inner things in life, like their spirit and soul. In a sense, martial arts truly began as just a system of killing and maiming. But in their training, and along the paths those martial artists took, they began to see the world differently. In training your body and mind, you cultivate your spirit and soul. True martial artists began to find out more about themselves, and become more 'balanced' because of that. That is why a 'balanced' martial artist will have 'an air' to him differently than a normal person. Martial Arts is not just about fighting, it truly is a way of life.
There are many paths an artist can take. But all are about expressing one's-self honestly. It's about finding yourself, and finding your world, and where you fit in it.

Reality, Actuality and Fliters.

An example helps when explaining the differences:
Two people get into a fight in front of a police officer in his cop car.
Both guys claim the other started the fight.
The officer that saw the fight offers the camera from the the front of the car as evidence.
The two guys perception of what happened is their reality.
While what the camera sees is actuality.
Reality can change from person to person because reality is one's perception of actuality.
One must ask then: when one is insane, is it when his view of reality warped, or his view of actuality? Is an unstable man insane if he sees/hears things that others don't, that camera's don't, or is his perception of actuality just different from others?
The camera, though, can change from showing the actuality to an altered actuality (reality) if someone edits the camera's video so it looks different from what actually happened.
Those 'changes and edits' are known as filters.
Everyone has filters in their minds. Filters are your opinions, thoughts, perception, and the situation you are currently in, that you must think through first before you can do something.
Filters are not what is honestly you. Filters are the extraneous thought processes. You must find out what is honestly you, and toss out those filters when you want to be honest with someone.
It would be hard for me right now to fully explain what filters are, so let me give a general rule of thumb, (one that could change to be more specific later):
Filters change your pure and honest thoughts into something less than yourself or something altoghter different. |
So....post similar stuff, comment on mine and others, etc. You know the drill. (And no starting debates whatsoever. If it aint a comment on the work itself, or posting something, don't post. I don't mind  , but I'll be damned if this becomes a debate thread)

| Thanks for the excellent input Kahou. You're a valued intelligent member of this community. Keep up the good work in this fine forum.
(joking pal. I agree, myspace isn't my cup of tea either, but you know how it goes, friends but you to get one, and then you make one and rarely use it, ever)
