Hey, I'm all for doing what you want, just trying to give some advice, because that is the one thing I'll agree with Porgon on, there is a lot of hate directed specificly at Nelf Hunters.

Your points in Thick Hide are a waste, and you should really have 2/2 animal handler, the 4% to hit actually makes quite a difference to your pet's hit/miss ratio in raids. |
Thick Hide is useful for trash in raids that do physical AOEs (like the ogres that do cleave and the spinning attack in Gruuls) so it's worth it to keep. Also, my cat rarely misses, I can't remember the last time I saw it do so, and since I have several abilities that cause it to attack at a rapid speed, a miss every few hits makes no difference (or at least, it wouldn't).
There are two problems with that spec, the first is that it doesn't put all 5 points in Frenzy, and the seconds is that it puts points in Endurance Training, which has very, very little use. While it may be argued that it would add to survivability, in raids, if you pull aggro and you can't dump it, you are dead. Most trash mobs can three shot hunters. |

| Physical AOE is easy to avoid, the biggest killer of pets is magical AOE, which armor is useless against. The one point in endurance training is there to satisfy the 10 point requirement to unlock the 3rd tier skills, but even so that one point provides better survivability than Thick Hide does in most situations. Next, with Serpent's Swiftness and Cobra Reflexes your pet will crit so often that even with 4 points into Frenzy it will be up 99% of the time, the 5th point is really just overkill and better spent elsewhere. Finally that 4% to hit from Animal Handler is just as important to your pet as increased to hit is important to the Hunter. You can't crit if you miss, which means no frenzy and no BI.

It's illogical to get +hit if you barely miss, though. And, besides, I use a cat. If a mob is doing magical AOE (that is actually a threat) it'll one shot her. Arcane Explosion from a level 69 Belf isn't going to bother my angry kitty. |

| After a bit of thinking, playing and more thinking, I've gone back to the horde. Not because the alliance players were noobs (they were all very helpful and nice) nor because the Horde does have better racials, but because i just enjoy playing Trolls, Undead, Tauren, and Blood Elves more than Alliance.

If you get the PLUS HIT TALENT, you can gear for ATKPWR + Crit! Cool?!
The most hit you have, the less enchants/gems/gear you need with +hit on them! The more hit you have, the more DPS you do, never missing > Barely missing.
You want to crit ever other shot if you want Go for the Throat to be of any use to you. It is mega useless if you have no hit rating. The talent gives you FREE HIT RATING, that you don't need to put on your gear, so therefore you can put damage stats on your loots.

Again, must I point out, I miss very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, ve-he-he-he-he-ERY little.
I've had all the high end raiding Hunters in my guild tell me its a useless talent, and since, you know, they've raided, I'm inclined to believe them.
Don't tell me how to play my class unless you have the experience to back it up.
EDIT: Also, may I point out, that's +hit to pet. Pet crits don't activate Go For the Throat.
