| The title should be clear enough to figure out what to do, but in case you can't...

Edit: Try to limit yourself to one or two pictures per post. _________________

| It's not so much making fun of the language but how it's translated. I used to take japanese as a language subject so I know how difficult it can be to get an acurate translation seeing as things are said differently.
As for the pictures of weird things even you have to admit Sunny that some of those Japanese game shows and the like are just there to be silly.
It's not a laughing at situation, it's a laughing with. _________________

| It's more the fact that you're laughing at the translation than anything else. Tis not insulting to me personally, more than I adore Japan, and it's laughing at something I love.
I actually checked with a friend about that river sign and she said that when translated literally it does say "carefully fall into the river", it just doesn't actually mean that. But I don't see why you'd laugh at that. It's like just like translating something from english to japanese and taking the english words, shoving the corresponding japanese words in their places without thinking about proper order. I've seen that done before... it was very strange.
Unfortunately there are some kanji I'm unfamiliar with in the picture Phoenix posted. So I'll have to wait till a friend comes online so I can check with her.
... My gut is also telling me that that river sign isn't Japanese. But *shrugs* |
