It's not. Not at least from what I can tell.

Well I'd think it'd have some hiragana in it... that, and my Chinese friend was the one that translated it for me. And apparently she's seen tonnes of those signs.

Good to know I'm not going crazy <3

*Sighs* Look, we're not laughing at the Japanese culture, we're laughing at the wierd/funny/creepy segments that have sprung up over the years. Such as this:

See? Not making fun of the Japanese people as a whole, just the ones who are so wierd/freaky/funny that they make worthy captions.

For a moment I thought you were laughing at the number of pictures on the walls and felt like telling you that my bedroom walls look very similar to that >.> And hey wow. I have that Sailor Moon picture on the top right on my computer.

Then I noticed the pillows >.> I'll let you know I half considered buying an X/1999 pillow with Kamui's face on it when I saw it in a magazine.

And those people would be considered otaku. I consider myself an otaku - just not as... umm... ... yeah... as they are in the picture - and there are a lot of otakus in Japan. And it's something generally associated with Japan. Gosh I wanna go to Akihabara one day...

Oh wow. They have a school uniform in the picture.

Something Tatara showed me the other day.

It really has more to do with English dubbing.

With you, it isn't so creepy. But, with a bunch of dorky guys who are clearly too old to be interested in such young characters... well, the only way it could be a more uncomfortable picture is if the pillows had holes cut in dubious places.

*snickers* That voice actor sounds familiar... *wikipedias*

... damn it. I'll never be able to look those characters the same way again.

Did you notice that the guy in the foreground has a pillow that looks like it's topless, with a towel wrapped around it?

You guys probably already know of Russell Peters
(Also, im chinese/Thai, and my family are very traditional in terms of our culture... yet this had me and my extended family laughing their heads off)

TSB!~ for the record, he takes the piss out of everyone, not just the chinese, so dont take it too harshly

This took my school by storm for 2 weeks, and im one of the proud few that can pull it off ^^

I saw this when it came on television. The Death Note dub isn't bad, in fact it's actually pretty damn decent when compared to other dubs. Still, that was pretty crazy. Light was so evil, he even made snacking on chips look diabolical.
