Problem:

Should the sub bosses (ie, me, Faceless, and Shogo) have rivals if they're, you know, the sub boss? A person who has me as their rival could have to face two bosses, and an evil character who has me as their rival would fight their rival and the mini-boss at the same time...

Anyway, I'm thinking that the mini-bosses shouldn't be an option for a rival.

Either that or they faced their rivals, then face a different mini-boss.

Yeah, the Mini bosses are Maulkin, you and Shogo Faceless.

Faceless, we needs help! Decide what we're gonna do!!!

My vote: to simplify matters, we simply go Forumites -> Rival -> Devourer, rather than having mini-bosses between Rival and Devourer. It would also allow for more playable characters, as the bosses would have to be unlockable.

The idea was that you would fight other forumites, then your rival, then the Devourer. However, some people said we should have another boss after Devourer as the FINAL boss, though we might not do that. I like Forumites -> Rival -> Devourer, that's how it should go.

Eh well, yeah.. i suppose it could be more simple that wa, i mean, the sub-boss was an interesting idea, but maulkin has a point in there, and since faceless has stated he does not want them, i think th "mini-boss" idea should be scrapped, altough storyline wise those three could still be threated as the "protagonists"...

I think it should be like
3 battles -> Rival -> 2 more battles -> miniboss -> devourer or life

the 5 battles being random battles - where the only one you know it won't be is your specific miniboss, rival, or devourer of life (so you still might fight character XYZ though your alignment normally wouldn't)

I like Porgon's suggestion... but it seems really short. I was thinking 10 battles or so total, so maybe more like:

5/6 Battles -> Rival -> 2/3 Battles -> Miniboss -> Devourer

8 battles -> Rival -> Miniboss(faceless,Shogo,Maulkin, or whoever) -> Devourer.
