| I may be a bit vague, but the question is this:
Would you like voice acting for your character?
Even if you yourself wouldn't want to do the voice acting yourself, or don't have the means to do so (no mic, etc), but do want a voice for your char, answer yes. Fixed the poll.
Welp, the poll might have been accidently closed by a mod, but just say your answer, I'll update with the results from this thread if not fixed Nevermind, it be fixed.
This could be as simple as adding a laugh, grunt, oomph, attack yells, to fully scripted speeches for end-of-the-game closing.
I myself would gladly help in this department, having an okay mic or two, and the audio recording and mixing software that is neccessary (not high-grade, but suitable for the task).
Also, I believe if we do so, I think we at the minimum could have the fight announcer (have anyone submit their versions they find or create), and victory/defeat quotes, and entrance quotes, and maybe even stuff like the yelling of supers, and what not.
This thread is for the poll itself and any discussion regarding spoken audio in the Game. _________________

| Hmm: *imagines tiny devil voice* "BEHOLD MY FURY!"

Again, I forget to state this, but this thread could also help people wanting to do their own voice work to the proper audio software that would help them with their task.
I have Pinnacle Studio 10, a video/audio capture and editor. This records voices VERY cleanly, and has some nice audio effects.
Another program I will be downloading soon, is, uh, . I'll update this post when I remember, but its used for low-to-mid level proffessional band recording, so its quality is very nice itself, and its an audio devoted program, so voice wise it might be easier to use compared to Pinnacle. _________________

| Demon. Get it right. >.>
Also, that's basically the idea, though I may actually not say it in english. I'd say it in 'Demonic' but I wouldn't spout random sounds, I'd actually make it sound like a language. _________________ *Insert evil laugh here*

| Hmmm... I don't think we'll really need voices for this. Text should suffice. _________________

| Voices would be great. It adds a level of depth to our characters.
Have you EVER seen a good fighting game without voices? |

| Hmm, maybe. I suggest that we leave it at maybe a couple voices during fighting, sounds like that. Could be far more complex coding all the dialouge. So I suggest voice acting going to an extent like grunts and what not during battle and of couse shouting of a special once and awhile.
And I'll even do my own character, I have a mic built into my laptop. _________________ "The only way to settle this dispute between two gods is with a pie-eating contest!!!" - Elan

Agreed, too much voice-acting and it would not only be heavy, it would be too cheesy. _________________

| Voice Acting include:
Entrance and End of battle quotes
In battle sounds (hah! ugh!)
Specials and Desperation annoucings (HADOUKEN!!!)
Announcer?
Is the above a pretty agreed upon idea? _________________

| I'm too lazy to try and make up that many more words in demonic just to make dialogue work. Though I think we should put images beside the dialogue text of the characters, but have a few different ones showing different emotions. _________________ *Insert evil laugh here*

Yeah, pretty much.
Only, we really would look for a good voice actor, as i said, i dont want cheesy or annoying lines in the game. _________________

| Who needs voice acting when you have audio editing? Truly, we can have anyone try out and show their version of a scripted announcements, and see what we like best, rather than nominating only one person and alienating anyone else who wants to try out.
For dialogue of plot points, a small image of the person talking, with appropriate facial expression for the corresponding text sounds like a safe bet to go, as long as we have someone willing to do the art. _________________
