Quilt and Garrit will f*ck you up

After rereading the Snowsong arc (and I for one actually happen to like that arc), I really enjoyed the whole interaction between Dex and Rachel and Quilt when they went to take down Snowsong. Had a cool "buddy team-up" feel to it. And I only noticed very recently that Mookie teamed up Dex and Quilt once again when they were going after the OH. And I realized that I really like that, and hope that theme comes back. Though Quilt works great in tandem with Gregory too. And Spark. And interrogating Bumper. Hell, Quilt + anyone = awesome. But this is almost the buddy cop movie cliche, which in the DD-verse makes me chuckle.

So I drew them based on their look back in the Snowsong arc, and Quilt's supposed to be talking smack presumably to Snowsong after that they finally took her out (even though it was Gregory who did it later). I was going to draw Snowsong unconscious in front of them and a background and everything, as well as Rachel standing there looking badass in between them, but for the time being decided it was too busy. I drew what I set out to draw.

Quilt was again modeled after myself (see pipe-smoking Celesto), and Garrit's based on my buddy Adlai. He fits that character perfectly, actually. As for me, well, I fell in love with Quilt the instant he started cracking up at Donovan's puns (didn't we all), but I'm also a huge fan of the original Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. And frankly, goofball humor aside, Quilt is closer to the book's description than most of the movie adaptations...

Oh yeah, I noticed nowhere in the Snowsong arc did it show what kind of shoes/boots Quilt was wearing in that outfit. So I gave him Chuck Taylors. It seemed appropriate. And the fact that those don't necessarily exist in DD-verse really only adds to it.

So yeah. Had a lot of fun with this one.

Heh, nice one, i specially like the expression in quilt´s face, and yeah, this is definetly a plausible scenario.
