Along a similiar note, here's a large thread from the Wizards of the Coast forums that a friend and I cobbled together. It's full of RPing advice as well as character creation advice, and, while some is specific to the context of the WotC boards, it could prove useful.

That website is actually a project of mine to gather all the role playing wisdom I can muster into a referencable site. I've really been pushing myself to write some new content for it lately. If you find anything you like, post it wherever.
