Please note: this guy is what we refer to as a 'loony'. Like Jack Chick, he cannot tell that star wars itself is not a problem, but only those who take it as truth or let it consume their life. Just like D&D and Videogames, their good or evil is in the application.

| I just want to clarify, the reason I said Jehova Witness is because there have been a lot of JW and Extreme Fundamentalist groups here in colorado which have protested star wars, pokemon, etc... saying almost verbatim what he said in this interview. Colorado has seen these types of people burning stuffed pikachus in Ft Collins (and unfortunately made international news).
and yes, I do consider anyone who does this as loony

Reminds me of a friend of mine's parents. They wouldn't let him play Starcraft because he could play as non-humans, because non-humans are satanic. Hew coudl play Warcraft, but only because he lied and said the orcs were unplayable >>

| The Left Behind series is surprisingly not crappy. I'm Jewish, but I wasn't offended by any Bible-pushing in the book. Just amused. Babylon Rising is a waaaay better series as a while, though.

| Let me remind you that this nutjo- err, person's, views do not represent those of most Christians, and we do indeed enjoy things from Starcraft to StarWars. The only time it becomes sinful is when it consumes your life, just like any other hobby. Even reading those Left Behind books can become a problem if you become so focused on it that you ignore your real purpose.

| That depends... do you mean putting all your faith in Christ, or being consumed by the rituals and the 'religion'? Ignoring Christ to focus on the rules and regs is sinful as well... it's something I struggle with. But, putting your faith completely in Christ is not a sin; quite the opposite, it's the best thing you can do.

Then you get people like that nuttjob who think anything outside of their little holy book is satanistic, people who -STILL- deny evolutions, wife beaters, red neck white pickup driving bible thumping IDIOTS, and my personal favorite - the ranting and raving homophobe.
Believe what you want, I'm not saying "Believing in a invisible man is dumb, duuurrrrr" I'm saying use some of your own sense in things beyond "this is bad because my god says so" |

Not really; Christian belief is based on the idea that Christ is the way and the only way to God. Putting all your faith in God is fine, then. "Do not store up your treasures in this world where the thief can break in and plunder; store up your treasures in heaven, where no theif can break in and plunder". Or, something like that, at least. And, no; putting your faith completely in Christ does not mean you don't do anything for yourself; you still work and such, you just have the hope that Christ is waiting for you at the end of it all.
I am not trying to debate or bash anyone, I'm just trying to give you guys some insight into the typical Christian ideas and ideals. D&D = Ebil!!! or STAR WARS IS FROM SATAN!1!! are not among them.
