| Yes, but I have to teach them at the same time. Try teaching a classroom full of hyper 1st or 2nd graders how to read, write, and speak Hebrew WHEN THEY BARELY CAN DO THE SAME FOR ENGLISH.

| Well I'm offically looking for a new job. I love working in the kitchen but who ever is making my hours is a moron. This is work for me next week.
Tues 5-11:30
Thurs 5-11:30
Sun 11-3,5-11
Now while it does not look like a lot, Sunday is 12 hours. A 9-5 job is only 9 hours, and that is a lot of work for some people, and that is in a (usually) Air Conditioned place with little movement and lifting. I'm working in a boiling kitchen hauling, scrubbing and on my feet for 12 hours...12 HOURS! I don't care how much I enjoy the job. I have expenses for next year which these hours will not cover for if I make only $350 a month, give or take. That will hardly cover books let alone gas and cell phone bills!
I need a job that gets me out of the house during the day and has regular, decent, reasonable hours. I don't care if it is at fucking McDonalds, I need steady hours!!!! /rant.

| Congradulations on the job..................*looks at the post above this one*........or maybe not...you should talk to whomever is making the hours and see if you cant get some changes made in your schedual. Before you do anything drastic i mean.

McDonalds doesn't have steady hours :P
Actually, most places that pay by the hour don't give you steady hours. If you want steady hours you have to go professional white-collar... but then they make you work overtime and don't pay you for it.
Or you could get a blue-collar technical job like plumber, mechanic or technician. You need some training and there is very little career advancement, but the pay and hours are decent, and the work is usually less stressful.
Basically, be happy they aren't open after midnight ^^ Oh, and that you can call them only a few weeks ahead of time to take time off.
I was working in a movie theatre during the Pirates III premier, and I'll tell you my feet hurt like nothing by the time I finally crawled home.

| well, here if you work 7 hours or more, you should be able to get two fifteen minute breaks and a half hour break. something like that.
that or they could give you a full hour break with like one fifteen minute break. stuff like that.
if they didn't give you enough paid breaks that IS something to complain about.

That depends on wether or not they made you sign a waver before they hired you. Some places, especially fast food places, will only hire you if you sign a contract that waives your right to your extra breaks (not the lunch break, the other ones). They generally give you some kind of break back, but it's not the same as you would have gotten otherwise.
Further, they usually don't count the lunch break towards the 7 hours that give you the extra breaks anyways. Nor do they count it for pay. So if you work from noon until 7:29pm and they give you a half-hour lunch, you're out of luck my friend.
Isn't the free market wonderful ^^
Of course, the best part is when the company start cutting corners to raise the profit margin. Like insisting we only put one squirt of butter on a popcorn and that we fill the drinks with as much ice as possible so we could give them less soda.
Oh, and keeping the nacho-cheese in tupperware containers overnight and then re-heating it the next morning.
