| The thing is, I'm pretty sure it'll be pretty much the same as the last couple but better graphics and slight improvements. Halo was never good yet look at the reviews. This is my problem with reviews. They are unreliable. _________________ You're about to die. Scream if you must. |

| Well, those are good points, and you know what you guys mean, the thing here is, i believe a perfect "10" is a game that is not necesarily new or innovative, but a game that overall, does everything right, you know? graphics, gameplay, sound, story, replayability, duration, etc. and seems that is exactly what GTA IV does, it might now bring anything particularily new, but well, all the previous GTA had many significant flaws within them, including bugs, this seems not ot be the case with this one.
Dont get me wrong, im not saying the game is perfect or anything, i have not played it yet after all, but i am just saying why it could be as good as they say it is, also, im not a GTA fanboy, in fact, jack could tell you this, i was not really expecting a hell lot of it, but well, its been almost 10 years or so since IGN gave a 10 to a game, and since i tend to agree with IGN 70% of the time (i think that is a good ratio, considering the difference in ideas and criteria), well, that is why i now got interested.
Nut yeah, i could also be nothing really special, i agree with gil there, the halo series should have never gotten more of a 8 in score, yet, many have gave them 9.5 and stuff... _________________ Hell Hath no fury like a woman you really shouldn't have slept with.

| I heard that the VG companies basically bribe the reviewers to give their games more coverage and higher scores, though it's more of a Payola thing, to be honest. _________________ You and your friends are dead.

| Hmm, could be grimm, it wouldnt surprise me, actually, but eh, if this 100% true, i think we would see a whole lot more of nines in the reviews of EA´s games, for example.
I have never said "professional" reviews are totally trustable or anything like that, i just tend to agree a bit more with them than say, a user review for example. _________________ Hell Hath no fury like a woman you really shouldn't have slept with.

| I read HYPER>> magazine here in Australia. They're always brutally honest and the game actually has to have alot about it that's good to get 'the hyper big rubber stamp of approval' (90%+). IGN I've never trusted; or any other website for reviews. It always tends to be less of a review and more of a re-spouting of the media blurb regarding the game.
And we are seriously derailing this thread. _________________

I've read that magazine before. It was good.
Oh, and I think I'll make a thread on this in the Other Media section. So discussion can continue there. =3 |

| I get GTAIV in two days, so don't expect to see me online nearly as much as you usually do. _________________

| I would understand if the companies were paid to review them and post their reviews in a certian spot and with certain emphasis, but, well... they could only get away with greased palms so much. A review magazine would quickly lose readers if they let bribes significantly sway their opinion. _________________

| Which is why they don't, and why people will still buy the magazine instead of just reading a net review. _________________

| I'll probably be a bit aloof as I begin editing my book and attempt to adjust to Stratera. _________________ Most piratical fox you're likely to see.

| Do what I do:
Don't give a fuck.
I don't care if Rockstar payed off IGN, GTAIV is going to be an orgasm of a game, and I can't wait to get it. _________________
