| Huh. Interesting. I suppose it is technically Mookie's forum, but he hasn't been actively involved in it's running since... I don't know. Before I came (which was 2005 O___o).
Edit: Oh, and the fact the troll went to that much effort is kind of funny, I suppose. :P |

| I figured there would be at least one thread around here about this event.
I'll just give you a short version of the last few weeks:
We had two major trolls on our forum: Shari and Pain.
Shari was dodging a ban that he had previously recieved, and Pain was pissing everybody off.
The moderators - Silv, Tdot, and Nevr - had been attempting to PM an admin who had promised to help them with any problems they had.
Without telling us, that admin was no longer in charge of helping us, so they never got a response.
A thread was made to get the attention of said admin, who then turned our mods away saying it was not his duty anymore.
In comes a never-before-seen admin telling us that she(?) is now in charge. This admin started giving speeches about how she can't go about banning people willy-nilly without evidence of wrongdoing, and claimed all the evidence was gone because the mods were editing and deleting all the offensive evidence - aka doing thier job.
Meanwhile our resident trolls were helping to drive away some of our regular posters. Pain was also making his best effort to cover his ass during this time.
After the disappointing response of the new admin, Tdot and Silv quit being moderators.
Nevr decides to lay down new law with an iron fist.
I assume there was a bunch of PMing occuring, because a few days later Shari was re-banned because of ban evasion.
Pain ended up as part of a test run of one of the new version of the forum's features. Every time Pain would post, it would not be displayed until Nevr would approve it, or it would never be shown at all. It was a nice little choke chain.
Then a few days later Pain received a full ban.
Tdot was considering returning as a mod.
We arrive at today, where we are under a massive spam attack from what I guess is Pain, but could also be Shari. |

| We have the ability to ban people. I prefer to leave banning to the admin, mostly.

| The keenforum problem lies a little with the fact that the only folks with banning capabilities are not part of the DD community (this includes Mookie if he has that ability, since he never visits). So, whenever retardedness rears its head(s), it's not as simple to remove as it should be.
In any case, hopefully it won't get fed more, as it's easily ignored currently.

| Yes, the moderators here can ban people. And, since I have little love for keenspot, I laughed a little at the snarkiness and volume of the insults.

Thanks for the run down. It's good to know what's actually going on, instead of just speculating. And the entire admin situation sucks. Mookie should make someone who actually knows the keen forum and has the time to take care of it the admin.

The banning thing as part of our powers is a recently new development. Basically though, we'd only use it without the input of the rest of the staff if there was someone spam trolling like the keentroll did. |

| I have nothing to say. Nothing nice that is. Shit happens, and Keenspot is a place I pretty much dislike, so I can't say I feel sorry. I feel sorry for Nevrmore putting up with it, but that's the internet for you.
