| It doesn't NEED to be mutual. It can be, but its okay for the above example (by 2.72). But I don't beleive you can make Devourer your rival, he's everyone rival in a sense (he's the boss char, along with, I'm guessing with one or two others).

Well, from your story, the one that seems more fit to be your rival is your created brother, but since i think it will be unlikely he will be in the game, i think you should modify the storyline a bit to make one of the current characters your rival, preferably pick someone who is evil or at least chaotic neutral so it can make sense.
There are many ways someone can fit in your story, hell, even mine could be it, lets just say i was payed to destroy the place and everything, and there you go! even i could be your rival if you wanted to! |

May I suggest PhyX - Savaran Darklight as your rival. Light against Dark. Classic.

| Added in Mioi as a specific named rival, though Porgon will have a bit of a problem with anyone of evil alignment
