NAME: Oblivion

DESCRIPTION: A strange figure wrapped in dark, flowing robes. Wiry and thin to the point of emaciation, with shoulder-length black hair and red eyes almost giving him a vampiric look. His robes are based black but covered in clashing-colored patches. He carries no weapon, although a black glass orb constantly circles around his body.

CONCEPT: High attack speed, moderate movement speed, moderate attack damage, low defense. Best at range.

BACKSTORY?: Oblivion lost his name years ago, when he abandoned his search for the magic of light and descended into cataclysmic nihilism. Since that time he has phased from world to world, an interdimensional traveler seeking only the grandest destruction on the greatest levels. His sanity was also discarded in those forgotten eons - some say sacrificed to an ancient abysmal entity such as Cthulhu or Nyarlathotep, others say it remains one soul of many trapped in the ebony orb that accompanies him, Black Thirteen. He isn't telling.

He was defeated and driven back into the void multiple times in the past; his memories are fragmented as a result, but one thing he remembers is an unarmed combat fighting style used by a devoted monk who was one of the few who did so. This same combat style is used by Gilgamesh, although whether the man knows of the connection or not is unknown to Oblivion, he doesn't care either. He knows only that the style is familiar and that the man MUST have some connection to the monk who dispatched him those centuries ago, and the fury to see his defeat burns in Oblivion's empty soul like hellfire.

Another fragmented memory in Oblivion's shattered mind is the word "Sparta". Although the connection is vague, simply hearing it drives the Mad Mage into a frenzy of fury and vile hatred.

Oblivion is not allied with the Devourer, nor with any of the other warriors; in fact he seems to be in competition with the Devourer, looking to destroy all before the Devourer can consume it. If too late, he would likely console himself with destroying the Devourer and anything its hunger left untouched, then moving on to the next victim universe.

BASIC ATTACKS:
Light Punch: Magic Missile - a short-range, rapid-fire, low-damage energy bolt. Doesn't change for jump/crouch.
Light Kick: Electric Loop - a short-range wheel of lightning that spins away from Oblivion then back toward him. Slower than the Missile and only one can be fired at a time. Jumping causes the loop to roll below Oblivion rather than forward; Crouching causes it to roll upward.
Heavy Punch: Hideous Blow - charges magical energy in the fist then lunges for an empowered strike with a bit more range than the Missile. Performing while jumping causes an uppercut; while crouching does a slide kick.
Heavy Kick: Eldritch Glaive - swings a medium-range wave of magic energy in the shape of a blade in a forward arc. Jumping or crouching swings the glaive down-forward and up-forward respectively.

COMMAND ATTACKS:
None. His basic attacks are what he uses when spells are unnecessary; he jumps straight from there to going all-out with magic (Special attacks) or full-scale assault (Desperation attacks).

BASIC THROWS:
Mage Hand - rather than grabbing a foe himself, Oblivion conjures a magical hand to snag the target and toss them aside. A forward throw flicks the opponent away, a backward throw squeezes them tightly before tossing them over the warlock's shoulder.

SPECIAL ATTACKS:
Aerobolt - A long-range, low-damage attack that fires an arrow of energy across the battlefield. (Think Pit from SSBB)
Cometfall - Oblivion creates a medium-sized ball of flaming rock and hurls it at an enemy. Takes a bit of time to charge up, but can be aimed before being released. (Think Samus from SSBB) Explodes when it hits something, damaging other characters/objects in the area.
Polar Ray - Oblivion hurls a beam of ice-blue energy across the battlefield for moderate damage. The player has a second to aim the attack before it fires, and a glowing ball of light shows opponents where it's targeted, giving them a chance to evade.
Thirteen's Eye - Oblivion concentrates his magical energy into Black Thirteen, creating an energy shield that reflects attacks. (Think Pit or Fox from SSBB)
Thirteen's Gate - With Black Thirteen's aid, Oblivion creates a massive field of dark energy, not unlike a small Black Hole. This draws nearby foes closer to Oblivion and damages them once they reach inside a certain radius. Black Thirteen spins wildly around Oblivion while he casts, occasionally striking enemies if they're drawn too close and dealing extra damage. (Kind of like the Nova bomb from SSBB, but less damage)

DESPERATION MOVES:
Wizard's Rainbow - Black Thirteen summons its twelve companions, the other colored orbs in the Wizard's Rainbow, which all thirteen then rain across the battlefield, smashing into opponents as they go. Mediocre damage individually, but each blow sends the enemy flying and may knock them into another of the thirteen flying balls, bouncing them about and adding to the damage.
X-Asteroid - Calling upon cosmic forces beyond mortal comprehension, Oblivion draws a massive meteor from the sky and sends it plummeting towards the battlefield. Slow moving but large and deals massive damage, and can be slightly controlled by Oblivion as it appears, although control is lost after a bit.
Oblivion - The Dark Mage's namesake ability draws upon the powers he obtained from the Darkness Between Worlds, from Black Thirteen, from whatever Lovecraftian entity he sacrificed his soul and sanity to for his powers, or to some greater unknown. The area visibly dims and Oblivion himself drops into a photo-negative, then becomes surrounded with a rapidly-expanding bubble of white light. Glowing firebursts spray from within this aura, reaching slightly beyond its edge and knocking foes away, but those caught within the radius of the blast itself are held in place as the sheer force of the attack wracks their physical and mental forms. At the last it explodes with a flash of darkness that sends anyone trapped within the aura flying, and Oblivion's appearance returns to normal. For a time after executing the attack Oblivion can only use his basic attacks until his body recovers from the sheer power output of this epic spell.

Rival: Gilgamesh. It's not that they don't get along... Oblivion doesn't even know him... but his fighting style reminds him of someone who defeated him long ago. Oblivion doesn't like losing.

Stage: A rubble-strewn area that looks like it got hit by a meteor strike or massive explosion. Nothing special.

Stage Music: Dancing Mad

Victory Poses:
-Crosses arms, rears head back, and laughs insanely
-Spreads arms and creates black and red flashes of light
-Turns back and calls a meteor from the sky to crush the battlefield

Victory Sayings:
- "VWHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!!!" (with sound effect!!)
- "Come Discord, Come Darkness, Come Oblivion!!"
- "If that's all the fight this world has, you deserve to be destroyed!"
- "Heavens weep and Hells tremble!"

Defeat Sayings:
- "I fall to THIS meager fool?!?"
- "So this... is... Darkness...."
- "Thirteen... my soul?? No...!!"
- "Heh... even dying my rage is unquenched...."
