1. To decide how backgrounds will word (do we do one for each character, or do we do a few generic ones with special ones for bosses?)

2. To make detailed concepts for each background. Also, decide whether or not the backgrounds will be pixilated like the characters.

3. Draw and upload each of the backgrounds.

We decided in the How Many Backgrounds thread that there should be a background for each character, plus a few extras.

Ah, 'kay.

Now for the backgrounds... and I have an idea. We can do it like the character thread, each person posting what they want (and, potentially, their own picture).

But, for now, do we go with pixilated or normal backgrounds? I vote normal, but we might want to consider making them sixteen bit or something so they mesh well (or whatever they use for pixilation).

um, i already suggested these to be added in the character sheet, you know, to have all the character specs in one place instead of three?

...I just realized, we need to have standard sizes for backgrounds. Since Loofah already made one that was 2000 by 500 pixels, I suggest that.

That was just an outline Maul, they don't have to be the same size or all the stages would seem the same.

Actually, that's not necessarily true. I can't be too specific until us programmers get our act together and decide on a graphics engine. However, it is likely that we can have stage size vary.

Guidelines are still good, though. I recommend making them 480 pixels tall because many different resolutions can support that without stretching, and stretching is sometimes a speed concern and makes things look a bit distorted.

How about width? Should we give a nice general range for that, like 1,000 - 2,500?

I'm doing all the artistic work on mine, but I don't know how to make it move. I know that I have to make several frames, but I don't know how to link them into a GIF image thing...

It will move with the games engine. You dont want a gif but rather several frames.

That or the entities in the image that you want to move will have to be included elsewhere as several seperate frames.
