Alright, but when you get in trouble, it's your problem. _________________

Just thought you should know, there was a case a few years back where a thief was trying to break into a house and fell through the roof, injuring themselves. They sued, and won.
Anything is possible. _________________

Honestly, this is quite possible. Hell, some people who BROKE INTO AND HAD WEAPONS were able to win cases against the owners of the place cause they 'attacked' the 'visitor'. When it was obvious that the 'visitor' who broke in at night was stealing, they made a case that the violence against him was "unneccesary". That kind of fucked up self defense case only happens in the big cities/northern states though, more southern states are more like: Cop: So a man was threatening you and you shot him? Person: Yep Cop: Was he on your property? Person: Yep Cop: Case Closed, have a good day sir. (I love 'stand your grounds' 'protect your castle' laws, heh). _________________

| That would explain why I've never heard of it, I've never lived further north than south Tennessee and even then only for a year, the rest of my life has been spent in either Arizona or Texas. _________________ Boris: "Oh I love it! | | There was also the robber who botched his robbery and got locked in the garage and had to live off dog food for a week as the family was on vacation and won a lawsuit against them. |

| | Yea..its sad stuff. I had a whole list of silly lawsuits that won somewhere, like the lady that sued mcdonalds when she slipped on ice and got injured...despite throwing said ice and beverage about a minute earlier at her then boyfriend as he broke up with her. |

| I've heard about the coffee one and a few others, but never about CRIMINALS suing the PEOPLE THEY WERE WRONGING and WINNING.... So much for any faith I had left in the legal system north of the Mason-Dixon.
I'm curious... the Dog Food Thief, what was his complaint that he was suing them for? That they didn't leave a key in the garage so he could escape? I can't think of anything. _________________ Boris: "Oh I love it! UNKNOWN MAGIC! Let's go stick our heads in it, guys! OH COME ON!!."

| Terrence Dickson, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, who was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of the garage. Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open. Worse, he couldn’t re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut. Forced to sit for eight, count ‘em, EIGHT, days on a case of Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner’s insurance company claiming undue mental Anguish. |
